Q: Minor edits just for tags

ymb1What's your view as a reviewer and/or user when there is a barrage of minor edits, primarily for tags by users whose edits must pass approval? The help center says: Tiny, trivial edits are discouraged - try to make the post significantly better when you edit, correcting all problems that you...

Q: Question ban still in effect?

MuzeI have an indefinite question ban. I tried to clean up my questions to no avail. Can someone check to see what else I need to do?

@ymb1 about the minor edits question, as it is now, it's a little like a rant without a scope. would you edit it to be a bit more specific, and turn the first question from one that ask for an open-ended discussion to one that asks to determine a site-wide policy? thanks :)
as a second point, I personally don't see the comments here as obsolete: aviation.stackexchange.com/a/47621/1467

@Federico I am not gonna name names on meta, we discussed it here a while back, and @ kevin (can't tag) was supposed to make the meta post, as it was more prevalent when I was away in December, it doesn't seem to be bothering anyone, so fine by me, disregard last transmission :)
@Federico comments are too chatty, and I replied explaining that based on the plane in background, that foreground plane is nowhere near the final parking spot, and even revised the answer thereafter -- but again disregard

@ymb1 I've not asked you to name names :P only to define better the question, as it is now I wouldn't know how to answer, even as a regular user.
@ymb1 I have a different definition of "chatty", and 1 comment alone cannot fall into it. and I din't see that you already removed your comment, I was looking for the answer to the comment in the answer itself :P
[personally I would have left all the comments there, just to avoid the next person to come by to leave the same comment again]

@Federico no you're right, it was poorly written, i tried to generalize it to have a site wide agreed upon policy--not generalizing it, how is that not rep farming? keep in mind yesterday I approved/improved the edit suggestion, it's the nuisance of it is all. +300% rep increase in +2 increments from December alone, I'll leave it to you and I'll not bring it up again

@ymb1 You're good?

@Farhan all good (Y)

@ymb1 I've removed the reference to pulling up faster due to wing bending relief, does not seem right because m appears in the centrifugal force during the pull-up manoeuvre as well.

@Koyovis - great thanks for checking it -- what brought it up is I know fighters when loaded with [heavier] weapons on hard points, they can't pull up as hard as when they are not loaded

we have discussed it in December and if you remember there have been measures taken since then (and you see that the slope has decreased).
your meta post is still not really meaningful to me. you don't want to name names, and that's perfect, but if your aim is to discourage tag-only edits from people that do not have edit privileges:
- you need to clearly state this in the post
- or post it as an answer and see if it gathers upvotes

and remember that it won't be retro-active

2:10 PM
> it won't be retro-active
as in reverse rep? didn't even cross my mind
> there have been measures taken since
didn't know, good to know
thing is it's happened before, that one time the person was invite-able in chat, so I took the initiative and spoke to him in a chat room to explain (not accuse), turns out he wanted to DV a post in meta :'D
honest reply, so didn't bother me

@ymb1 yes, a few mods of other sites have come around to do that. there is a post on our meta that raises more than one eyebrow

@Federico - have no idea what post is that :D i tried to look for it back then, didn't find good candidates

and generally they try to do grammar editing, not tag-only edits, so that would not be covered by your current meta post

generally when the user can be invited, i don't bother the mods, even happened a couple of days ago

2:21 PM
@Federico ah yes, i remember that one now, actually I didn't DV it

3:08 PM
@Federico you were supposed to ask why not :P every time I start reading it, I can't manage to finish it :P

@mins substitute the APALS-updating with ILS/GPS signal compared against stored track/GPA "APALS-updated INS position accuracy reaches 1.5 m. This is maintained down to 100 ft above ground level, when the radar becomes ineffective, and the aircraft then continues to touchdown on inertial guidance only."

Q: Drones.SE is in the Commitment phase

reirabDue to there likely being some overlap of interests among some of our users here, I just wanted to post here that the Drones.SE proposal on Area 51 has completed the Discussion phase and is now in the Commitment phase. It needs about 120 more users to commit to using it before it will enter the p...
