@BretCopeland Agreed, it's just sad that hte making of the largest aircraft in the world is going bust. I guess with how the market is going, it's not necessarily a surprise, but still...
Well, it's not like the space plane it was intended to carry was much more successful.
I hope the AN-225 will continue to be used for several more years. It's a pretty unique plane with unique capabilities, but that can also make it hard to maintain, especially when the manufacturer shuts down.
The way I read it, it's not shutting down. Just being consolidated into a larger company.
It sounded like pieces they want to keep are being transferred to other agencies.

The maintenance division of Fokker continued even when manufacturing stopped. Financially viable parts will live on if it's feasible.
