@casey @DanHulme @Lnafziger --Thanks for setting me straight on Aviation.Meta. I think I just needed a head check...it happens on occassion.
Hopefully something good comes out of it though, I mean, the system probably could use some amount of refinement... In the mean time I think I need to just chill
@falstro I was a little confused at first, but is it sexist because the Captains hat is offered to men (with only a comment that it could be an FO) and the First Officer hat is offered to women (with only a comment that it could be a Captain)?
or alternatively, the women's hat is offered as first officer, while the men's hat is offered as captain (with the notes that it's also available as captain and fo respectively)
@falstro captain and FO hats are the same, only the "Hat brass" is different. Women (at least at my airline) had the option to choose from a second style of hat that was also the same for captain/fo aside from the brass.
at least from the supplier we used, but hats were not required at my airline so almost noone wore them
@JayCarr if you really want to see rep reforms you'll need to argue it on the main meta. For the reasons laid out in the accepted answer to your meta post, big changes like that need to be made network wide (SE won't do one-off per-site changes for major things like rep/badges) and to work network wide it needs to work for SO. in any case, meta.se is the place to propose that feature-request.
@JayCarr For the longest time on SO, my highest-voted answer was a two-paragraph fluff answer to a kind-of opinion-based question that happened to get lots of views, and my lowest-voted answer was an incredibly detailed description of some undocumented Android features that took me two days to write and I still refer to every six months or so.
@casey Aw...the thought of going to Meta.SE makes my head hurt... It didn't go well last time I went. Perhaps I need to figure out what would be required to get myself takne serious there (and, likely, what would be required for me to come up with an idea worth serious consideration.)
@DanHulme Yeah....to be fair, my highest voted questions are probably the ones that required the least technical understanding to even ask. The really interesting ones, that deal with the mechanics of flight (and are usually answered by Peter Kämpf), rarely get more than 7 or 8 votes... That's one thing about SE I wish could be changed somehow but I have no clue what could possibly be done to remedy it.
@JayCarr for that particular feature request to gain traction you'll need to present evidence that the current system can be outdone by the one you propose. SEDE would be a big resource to get the kind of data that could back up an argument to change question rep.
Update: January 15, 2016
Thank you for your candidness, patience and feedback. We're going to delay the implementation for now - we'll be back soon to open some more discussions.

There have been two rounds of discussion about code licensing:
The MIT License – Clarity on Using Code on Stack Overflow and Stack Exchange
A New Code License: The MIT, this time with Attribution Required
In my opinion (and with the benefit of hindsight), both rounds have been suboptimal ways...
Intro- Yes, this has been discussed before, but I have a different solution and some updated reasoning. Please, for the love, read the post before down voting it... (but then you can down vote it all you want, I know it's not a popular idea :)
tl;dr:
I personally think users should be able to ...
I'm currently playing campaign in 5E actually, and I even have a little app on my iPad to help me make my characters... Come to think of it, my memory just hasn't updated itself. In 5e it's never taken me more than 15 minutes to put one together.
And yeah, I agree, I like how the new skills work. Much easier to pull new players in, if you ask me, and much less of a hassle in game :)
Mmm, sounds like fun. I'm currently just playing (I DM'd 3.5, trying to get my skills back together to do it again.) Are you guys using a ready made campaign?
@DanHulme What?!!?!? Nerd!?!?! RPGs?!?!?! ...yeah, yeah, pretty much ;)
I hate it how the sun just punches a hole in the cloud cover all day and just as you consider taking off early from work to head out to the airfield the low clouds just appear out of nowhere.
@Ethan Fifth Edition rule set for Dungeons and Dragons. If you're not playing, go check it out in your local game store ;).
@voretaq7 That's a familiar feeling. I keep telling my boss I need a raise to support my flying habit, and he sympathizes (he has the same addiction) but alas.... We're still broke :(
I hope you get in the air soon though. That plane of yours isn't going to fly itself...hopefully.
@falstro I saw a vide of a 747 trying to do that once. To be fair it was being dismantled and had no engines...but it certainly was trying to rotate in that stiff wind.
@falstro heh yeah, I actually stopped by last night just to check ropes. I'm going to have to bring the battery tender out there at some point too, it's been over 30 days and it's winter so the battery is sure to be "unhappy" :-/
@JayCarr I keep scanning the classifieds for a career in my chosen profession, but nobody has any openings for independently wealthy gentlemen :(
I WILL WEAR A TOP HAT!
(I can't do a monocle because I'm blind as a fucking bat, but I am willing to rock those ridiculous half-glasses that perch on your nose with no additional support during the work day!)
@voretaq7 Yeah, it's a difficult field to get into, especially with that disability stopping you from wearing the monocle... Tell me though, how do you look in an ascot? You can make up for it that way sometimes.
I'll keep an eye out for an opening, in the mean time, you might try your luck with this:
