@TannerSwett it's always possible that someone imported one that day and is making his first flights

It's true.
I'm really tempted to bring up a certain highly downvoted answer.
But that seems kind of unkind. I don't think I'll talk about it.

Q: Is SF50 Vision Jet a natural progression for SR-22 owners...?

Hercules-63The quite unique Vision Jet which has been written about in almost every aviation magazine is touted as a next logical upgrade for the SR22 owners because of familiarity with it instruments and switches. Is a much faster single engine jet airplane with retractable gear a natural progression for ...

I would have thought the next step after the SR-22 would be the SR-71. :D
Of course, the SR-71 is a bit more expensive, and harder to come by...

@TannerSwett depends in which terms you want to bring it up. If you want to politely discuss it, and you think it is not a discussion for meta, you can do it here, it is quite normal thing to do to use chat to discuss the site.

I don't have anything constructive to say about it.
There are things I would enjoy saying, but they wouldn't be constructive.

ok, then yes, let's skip it

The SR-71 thing is why I generally don't put hyphens in the model numbers for civilian aircraft. That way, you can distinguish civilian and military by the hyphen...
C150, civilian. C-130, military. SR22, civilian. SR-71, military.

@TannerSwett ah, so it was not only me to be confused. when I first saw the question I assumed it was a military aircraft
this would be a good thing to discuss on meta: should we have tags (and mentions) of aircraft model follow this standard?

I wouldn't be opposed, but I haven't heard of anyone besides me using this "convention". I thought it was something I made up.
Although those ATC aircraft type codes, whatever they're called, never include hyphens...
Apparently they're ICAO aircraft type designators.
The ICAO aircraft type designator database does include hyphens in some model names, though.

well, but if does not in others, I would say it is a good baseline to follow
still, a meta discussion would be a good thing in my opinion

Like the Diamond Katana, say. The model name is listed in the database as "DA-20 Katana". The type designator, confusingly enough, is DV20.
So, shrug
