@abelenky I was surprised to find another Dotte denizen on here. Small world
so...I was reading about the recent oil spill at Gatwick that closed the main runway -- and the approach options at EGKK leave me baffled. they put in fancy-pants RNAVs to the secondary runway, but don't let you do a sidestep to it off of the main runway ILSes? that strikes me as quite odd.
are sidestep approaches a US only thing?

@tommcw I'm JoCo actually. But same area

Ah. Your profile said KCK. You mentioned flying over Kansas fields in a comment. If you're ever flying over Anderson county and look down and see a FedEx truck it's probably me

@DanHulme That one is right up there with the go-around from a gear-up landing video that made the rounds a while back

@DanHulme Nice, always feels good, eh? :)
@DanHulme He flew it again without properly inspecting the prop? Yikes! Especially after a landing like that. He could have had engine damage to for all anyone knew, it's lucky he got back alright.

@JayCarr indeed
the occurrence aircraft is being completely rebuilt
@JayCarr I think that could happen to me... I mean, after the hard landing maybe not, but I could certainly ding the prop (like loose gravel being sucked into it) without noticing and take off again.
