@Ben Good, good. Writing.
Or spending an hour filing a feature request for World Anvil and connecting to Discord when I meant to be writing.

So the normal productivity cycle :P
Yes. Reading feature requests and starting discussions about them seems far too much like work as well.

Q: Do Bracers of Archery make weapon attacks magical for overcoming resistance to non-magical attacks?

aaron9eeeBracers of Archery are described thus: While wearing these bracers, you have proficiency with the longbow and shortbow, and you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls on ranged attacks made with such weapons. According to Does a Mundane Arrow Fired From a Magical Bow Count as a Magical Weapon Attack?,...

Q: Why do reputation changes in "Time" view show large values?

Groody the HobgoblinHere is a reputation change from the "Time" view on the reputuation tab, showing +190 rep for an Upvote on this answer. As of the time of this writing, the answer had a total of 8 upvotes and 1 downvote. Where does this weird value of +190 rep come from? Clearly, each upvote only adds +10 rep, an...

@doppelgreener Has CR said they are looking to move to another system? (I'm ~20 episodes behind in the current season)
11:16
@illustro I don't follow CR, but discussion I've been seeing is that they have almost no ties to any Wizards IP in their game and seem to be making motions to reduce the amount of IP to nothing such that it'll be entirely their own IP & they can move on to something else.

Q: Should we delete this -17 answer that appears as an answer snippet in google search?

Thomas MarkovWhen I google "can you counterspell a counterspell", google returns an answer snippet from the site: Unfortunately, this snippet comes from this answer, which has a score of -17 at the moment, making it one of the top 10 lowest scoring answer on our entire site. This is obviously not a good "fea...

OGL conversation led to this perspective: Look no further than Games Workshop for a model Hasbro could easily follow when it comes to Copyright Trolling. GW has a legal team whose whole job it is to look at websites and issue sweeping DMCA takedowns to de-platform designers. There is no court involved because it is the host website that does not want to have to fight for a single creator and so just complies
It is the up to the single creator to fight each DMCA, eating into their own time to try and get their creations back online. GW never goes after other big companies, they tried once and lost that case on 75% of their claims. They do target many smaller creators to create a chilling effect in the marketplace that never once sees a legal contest. Hasbro KNOWS this works
They have seen the model in place and thriving and are just adding it to their toolbox when it comes to making their closed environment the only way to enjoy the hobby - the 'closed system" appears to be the VTT WoTC is working on.

The only thing open about the Open Gaming License 1.1 is your wallet pouring money into Hasbro’s revenue stream.
@ThomasMarkov Yes. Noah, the guy in virginia says right up front: The OGL isn't an open license.

Q: How is Read the Air meant to be used?

darchThe Secrets of Magic spell read the air reads in part You also gain a +1 status bonus on your next Diplomacy check to Make an Impression on those creatures present when you cast this spell, as long as the check occurs during the duration of the spell. Said duration is one minute, which happens ...

@ThomasMarkov A possible true leak, but also possibly a bit of noise. @NautArch

Q: What is OGL 1.1: A request to reopen

T. SarI've created the following question today. What's going on with D&D's OGL 1.1? How does it affect me? It got closed for being off-topic. I don't believe in it being the case. OGL is explicitly on-topic and RPG-related, as is issues regarding publishing, as per the current meta. That said, it is t...

how is everyone
22:16
@doppelgreener The Empire Fan Base Strikes Back
Shall I formulate them the perfect response? "This was meant to be OGL 1.1." *draws lighter and sets it aflame* "Have OGL 1.2. It's the same as 1.0a, but for one sentence: We can't modify of revoke it. Are you happy now?"
But I expect them to add something like:
"in other news, One D&D uses this totally-different-License that's not the OGL but the DNDGL 1.0... which just happens to read like what we thought OGL 1.1 would be."
22:32
And I think that's closer to fair, since it doesn't try to retroactively pull the rug out from under the 1.0a folks who are getting Sneak Attacked by that 1.1 deal ...
22:53
There's been a little whistle blow from a D&D Beyond staff member claiming the current PR is solely due to D&DB cancellations, that management sees the customers as an obstacle to their profits, and that they plan to push OGL 1.1 out as-is anyway after everything washes over. DnD_Shorts says they've confirmed the leak is legit. Naturally take this with as much salt as you consider correct.
.... The D&D Beyond subscription management page is apparently not currently working as of a few hours ago.

Q: What's going on with D&D's OGL 1.1? How does it affect me?

T. SarMost of the communities I participate in are currently ablaze with rumours and speculations about Wizards of the Coast's OGL 1.1. As someone that is on the brink of pushing to print something I've been working for the past half-decade, a sudden, retroactive change of the licensing terms is at lea...
