The book in question I had at one time and lost during a move. The front and back covers were glossy and are white with not the greatest art. I think it was the 2nd in a series of 3, but I could never find the other 2. It was a non official d&d supplement dealing with way over powered artifacts s...
I've introduced a homebrew Lingering Injury system to my D&D 5e campaign. The system is relatively simple but does require the addition of some spells to heal from the injuries.
This question is about the balance of the new homebrew injury healing spells rather than the system itself (which I wil...
Could someone wave the "it's better to write your answer in isolation and not phrased as a remark on other answers, as though they might not even exist" friendly advice stick for this answer? rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/180695/…
@doppelgreener This is an accurate summary of most of the D&D sessions I DMed in the Starter Set campaign I ran for my friends (except I wasn't the one dragging them out :P)
To clarify, I am trying to understand the interaction that occurs in D&D 5e between features that all grant a similar attack.
For example, if I took a Path of the Beast Barbarian that was a Lizardfolk cursed with werebear lycanthropy (I was originally using a Longtooth Shifter, but their Bite is ...

So you're a ranged combatant riding a controlled mount, maybe a horse. Regarding "Controlling a Mount", the PHB states about controlled mounts:
It moves as you direct it, and it has only three action options: Dash, Disengage, and Dodge. (PHB, p. 198)
Can you direct the mount to ready the Dash a...
@ThomasMarkov I agree with your answer there, but focused on the feedback request. rpg.meta.stackexchange.com/a/11942/44723 Do you think I'm missing out on some of the important bits?
I'm specifically referring to this ability:
When you do so, each creature of your choice that you can see within 10 feet of you must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take force damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die.
I'm assuming that the wording is very specific on this and y...
Professional tip: when responding to an email that has upset you (especially to the point of expletives), draft the email, then leave it for a few hours while you calm down.
I'm dealing with a project handover from a previous business partner, regarding FTP access, and their response is basically "not my problem", but probably in the most condescending way I can think of.
@Phoenices Addendum to the Shadow/refection PC: Reflections can see, not hear, shadows can hear, not see
I know of two sources of death attack that use Charisma, rather than Intelligence, for the save DC: the marrulurk race from Sandstorm, and the 7th-level vestige Marchosias, King of Killers from Tome of Magic. As far as I know, there are no options for a Wisdom-based death attack.
Are there any ot...
@Ben Related tip, set aside 5-10 minute windows once every 2 hours to look at and process emails. This includes drafting long emails. Don't look at/process emails at any other time. That habit has on a number of occasions saved me both from rash replies, but also given me space to look over emails I started earlier in the day.
But yes, that sounds like a very frustrating situation
