@BESW that's fair. I was trying to imply that the accompanying adult makes it child appropriate, because as you say it's not designed explicitly for them.

Gotcha, that makes sense.
(The above is also why I can't answer the mainsite question about Puppy Day.)

12:28 AM
@BESW makes sense

12:45 AM
I could write an answer but it would be "I cannot answer this" and the only reason that'd be valid is that I'm the creator and you asked for a creator response.
It wouldn't actually answer the question, it'd only be valid on a technicality.

There's an upcoming Kickstarter for a book of 5e mechanics for "disabilities, mental illness, and neurodivergence," and I urge strong skepticism on the part of anyone looking to support it; the material they've already shared looks... poorly thought out... and they ignore people trying to reach out to them about it.

@BESW I very much appreciate you not linking to it

hah, yeah. I do my best not to give bad stuff extra clicks. If you see it, you'll know it based on my description. If you don't see it, then you didn't need to.

I've definitely considered writing an ADHD condition for (n)W/CoD, but it was mainly as catharsis and/or an attempt to explain it to people

3:11 AM
@AncientSwordRage If you'd like I could link you to a thread where a game designer with ADHD talks about how they'd approach D&D mechanics for the condition.

It was something like "You can't complete/don't get 10 again/take twice as long to complete extended skill checks unless you have a specialism in that skill"

(It starts with the idea that ADHD isn't just a set of penalties.)
Based on one of the ideas in the thread...
> Unexpected Knowledge Once per scene you can know something which seems completely unrelated to yourself or your circumstances, as if you had spent a fate point to invoke for benefit. For example you can remember where someone else left their keys, or be able to pass for an expert in an obscure subject in conversation.
@BESW be able to pass for speak as

Q: How to represent 'instant expert' in nWoD?

AncientSwordRageI'm statting up a very smart character for a hunter game (Int ••••) and would like to represent his ability to look over some theoretical work (briefly) and become an 'instant expert'. I've noticed an ability of the same name exists in Changeling and Genius, but from the summary I read it doesn...

I think your fate example is what I was going for with this ^
Or at least the feeling I wanted to get even if there's not an exact mapping between instant research and unexpected knowledge

Q: Does truesight + Detect Magic defeat Nystul's Magic Aura?

Ryan C. ThompsonSuppose I suspect that an object is magical. I cast Detect Magic, but I see no magic aura on it. However, I'm still suspicious, and now I begin to suspect that the aura has been hidden by Nystul's Magic Aura. I happen to have a Gem of Seeing, so I activate it and then once again use my action to ...

Q: Is this suggested edit on a VtM-5e question about a combat sequence that ends in three turns out appropriate?

AkixkisuIs this edit https://rpg.stackexchange.com/revisions/138119/3, which substantially restructures the question, appropriate? This question focuses on a single combat sequence — and the rulings related to it. It restructures it from a more experienced player's standpoint. One other user and I though...

Got almost all Christmas shopping done, deliveries are already happening, and I am thankful that I was not at the local mall yesterday. Apparently, the 'smash into each other in the parking lot' hobby is being engage in yet again.

Q: List of racial ability bonuses

AndrásIs there somewhere a good overview, preferably a table of all the possible racial ability bonuses? I spent quite a lot of time on google, but I could only find such tables for Pathfinder 1, although I specifically searched for Pathfinder 2.

Q: Can Strixhaven students join two colleges?

nick012000So, in Strixhaven: Curriculum of Chaos, it's mentioned that characters choose to join one of the five Colleges during their second year. However, it's possible for characters to have abilities themed for more than one of the colleges, and one of the adventuring locations in the first adventure is...

Q: All-Out-Attack and All-Out-Defence against a single opponent are confusing

RoseWhen a PC is up against multiple foes in Vampire: the Masquerade 5e they have the option to switch between their attack dice pool and their defence dice pool, this allows them to attack and/or defend against multiple opponents. So what about a single foe? If they can do it against multiple enemie...

@V2Blast Whenever there is a dispute that touches on accountability, I get a lot of negative feedback that tells me to keep direct references to actions out of the query, so that is what I did this time around. It is excessively tiring, so I'm not entirely sure if I feel comfortable with that edit.

Q: Magic the Gathering symbols make text render ugly on mobile site

Mołothttps://rpg.stackexchange.com/a/194730/10642 On mobile version there are some new lines that makes the answer really hard to read, screenshot included below.

@Akixkisu Feel free to remove the link to the review-queue item if you want - I just included the link because you mentioned you and another user approving the suggested edit.

@V2Blast I'll sit on it for now. We will see — it is unfortunate that I can be imprecise or make people opt-in to contextualise a situation. I wish we could keep drama out of accountability.

I already have three bounties up.

Q: Should we have an [ancestry] tag?

ESCEIn Pathfinder 2e, races have been replaced by ancestries. Functionally, though, ancestries and races perform the same role. When editing this question about PF2e ancestry ability boosts, I ran into a bit of a conundrum. It is presently tagged [races]. However, someone searching for PF2e informati...

@ThomasMarkov if you can see V2Blast, they can see your post. If you can't see V2Blast then you may only seconds away from your post being edited.

@AncientSwordRage I left my desk for an hour and came back to "23 recently active questions"

@ThomasMarkov I've already had to roll some back, that I think went too far

We probably could use a better title on the dissonant whispers question, other than that, I agree with your roll back
Not sure about this revision however.

@ThomasMarkov possibly? I figured that sticking to the OPs was better that completely rewording myself

@AncientSwordRage I think the title is "good enough", but there is room for improvement. Not a very high stakes issue though.

7:48 PM
@ThomasMarkov I don't like the idea of sanitising/hiding that sort if thing
I've downvoted it instead
This is an ok answer, but the use of the word "retarded" out of the appropriate context is divisive at best, and offensive at worst. Rewording this would be appropriate. — AncientSwordRage 20 secs ago

@AncientSwordRage What do you think about this revision?

@ThomasMarkov too far

@AncientSwordRage I think so too.

8:08 PM
@ThomasMarkov I don't want to go round rolling them all back and cause similar issues

@AncientSwordRage I flagged for mod and left a search link to the 8 posts that use the word.
@AncientSwordRage I went through most of them and found two to revise.

Also if it's more than just a few... Yeah good idea
@ThomasMarkov nice
Now we play the waiting game
The waiting game is boring! Let's play hungry hungry hippos!

My experience using the DND Beyond mobile app for searching is that it is actually quite good, which makes the full website’s search function even more hilariously terrible.

@ThomasMarkov I only remember using the mobile web version

@ThomasMarkov Seems like that is the way to use it.
They initially pushed usining it on tablets, but I never knew that the app would actually have the features that I want to use.

Q: Can I take a feat multiple times?

Can I ta...
