Q: How can I determine the spell save DC of a monster/NPC?

Aaron FI am currently DMing a 5e homebrew campaign, and I was looking at the Drow monster stat block. They have innate spellcasting abilities and one of those spells is Faerie Fire. In the description, it states that the targets must make a Dex saving throw or be outlined in color. How do I determine...

Ben
12:41 AM
Morning all

ahoi matey

Ben
I've been playing too much Breath of the Wild lately. I just took out my phone and took a photo of a pigeon so that I could add it to my album
Haha
@Helwar how's things?

hey, good!
and you?

@Ben .... We need to talk... It's about your BotW problem...

Ben
Stress migraines and nausea, for the time being... Should hopefully pass soon though

12:48 AM
@linksassin what are you talking about? BotW can never be a problem. THe only time it's a problem, is when you're finished with it and you want more

@Helwar It's a problem when he can no longer tell if he is playing the game or living it...

@linksassin also, not a problem! haha

hey as well @linksassin, how're things going?

@Rubiksmoose lol, sometimes it feels that way

Ben
@linksassin yes... The first step is identifying it as a problem. Progress!
Actually I do have a legitimate issue in that regard. Not to do with that game - my controller.

12:54 AM
@Shalvenay Sure, but I haven't watched it yet.

@Shalvenay I'm not too bad. My wife's work is being a bit stressful but overall things are good. Yourself?

@linksassin alright here

Ben
One of the joycons sits loosely in the controller bracket, so it clicks when I use it

@nitsua60 ah, was hoping you'd get a chance to watch it tonight actually (it's ~12mins long, so not terribly long)

@Rubiksmoose It's excellent. I hope HBO does a public service and releases it free to the world after the run has completed, like they do with Sesame Street.
@Rubiksmoose what was your previous work? (It relates to my previous work, too--tangentially--so I'm doubly-curious.)

Ben
12:57 AM
@Helwar my first playthrough I actually spent an extra 14 hours in game because I didn't want to fight Ganon and 3nd the game. Lol

@nitsua60 I worked in fire protection at a nuclear plant. How about you?

@Rubiksmoose researcher at Fermilab.
(You're a lot closer. In Manmade Disaster Bocce, I believe the score is now 1-0.)

i played the heck out of it, but i drew the line in grabbing all the little seed guys, and improving all the armors. It took me like 4 hours to grab enough bugs to improve one set of armor.... so I decided it wasn't worth it :P

@Rubiksmoose Do I remember correctly that you're in Wisconsin?

@nitsua60 oh nice! Yeah I mean I worked there when I was in school but I decided not to pursue it because it was 90% red tape and very little actual physics/engineering. But it was a fascinating experience.
@nitsua60 I was! That's where the plant was. I'm in Michigan now.

1:01 AM
@Rubiksmoose Any chance it was Keewanee (sp?)?

@nitsua60 hah! It absolutely was.
Kewaunee but darned close enough.

@Rubiksmoose Wow! I've been there. Ca. 2003ish, maybe? My dad was a Bechtel guy and ran the SGRP.
Maybe '02.

Holy crap. Small world. I just checked and I was there 2010-2012

@Rubiksmoose Okay. Hope the new(ish) steam generator was still running well =)

So a bit apart. Still. That was a comparatively tiny plant in the middle of nowhere.

1:05 AM
@Rubiksmoose wow

@nitsua60 I can tell you it wasn't causing any fires!

@Rubiksmoose I've lost track how many "middle of nowhere"s I visited my dad at =)

@nitsua60 do you want me to send you another link to the video in question, or is now not a good time?

Strangely enough, they don't tend to put those plants in heavily populated areas if they can avoid it.

@Shalvenay I should be putting the kids to bed--Rubik's distracting me!
Tata, all.

1:06 AM
See ya!
@V2Blast working at a power plant sounds a bit more exciting than it was, but it had its moments.

Ben
@Helwar yeah the minimum required seeds to complete the inventory is 455. Lol
I am yet to upgrade all the armour, but I do want to get there eventually lol
I think I've player it enough times (I'm on my 4th playthrough now) that I'd say it's fair to invest the time. Haha

2:14 AM
Okay, suppose I had, like, a day to give myself a crash course on Eberron and I don't want to really spend much money. So maybe a novel or two, or a pdf of a sourcebook, but keeping it under $20 would be optimal. What should I grab? (I know virtually nothing about Eberron, as a baseline.)

Ben
@nitsua60 Is there an Eberron movie? :P

@Ben Chernobyl? Nah, I guess that's closer to Dark Sun?

Ben
I'll smile and nod... haha
@nitsua60 Actually is Dark Sun the one where the place has been ruined by destructive magics?

@nitsua60 I think WGtE gives a pretty good overview

@Ben That's the little bit I know.

2:20 AM
@Ben all I know about Dark Sun is that it has wild halflings... and apparently psionics play a big part

Ben
@nitsua60 That is the extent that I know about it too. Samesies! Haha

What's the deal with WGtE, again? Are we still paying money for a glorified, long UA?

Ben
@V2Blast Why does "wild halflings" make me think of "mini werewolves"?

That hasn't even been printed yet?

@nitsua60 It's a "living document". All of its parts have gone through UA. Artificer's intended to be in there too. The rest of it has yet to be updated after UA feedback, so I'm guessing the plan is to get feedback on artificer (now that the UA survey's out), adjust artificer based on feedback, then make all the changes at once and finalize the book as a whole.
@Ben hahaha
@nitsua60 Mearls had also said previously that print-on-demand would be enabled once finalized.

2:24 AM
@V2Blast Right. So I'd be paying for the unfinished product. And isn't there some brouhaha around the original author getting frozen out or something?

@nitsua60 ...No?

Must be thinking of something else.

Also, you're paying for "the unfinished product" but also you get the final product too

@nitsua60 Currently unfinished yeah. And dreadfully confusing about the status of it. I really hope they don't do this again.

more like "Early Access" than paying for just the beta
@nitsua60 probably Dragonlance. We had a question about it
9
Q: Who owns the Dragonlance intellectual property?

mdricheyThis answer states that Margaret Weis "owns" Dragonlance, and that she "won the rights to Dragonlance in a court battle." Is this accurate? I could not find any details of such a court battle, or indeed anything corroborating the assertion that Weis owns Dragonlance, from searching the Internet. ...

2:25 AM
No, wait, I think that's right. Keith Baker's ringing a bell.
@V2Blast No, not that.

idk then
also, there's a separate Eberron hardcover coming out later this year

Some months back I remember reading something. Maybe ENworld?

Keith Baker did the lead work on WGtE along with Ruty Rutenberg

Oh, well.

I believe Kate Welch is one of the leads on the Eberron hardcover (presumably with heavy involvement from Keith as well)
the hardcover was briefly announced by Nathan Stewart and Kate Welch at the end of the D&D live event (though Nathan Stewart said they'd leave it out of the VOD so all the people watching Game of Thrones wouldn't find out until later :P )

2:27 AM
May I just say, that I love how informed you are about these things @V2Blast. It's nice to have someone around that really pays attention to all these announcements and remembers the details.

though the only detail they gave about that was that it had a warforged on the cover
then Keith Baker confirmed it again here:
"For everyone wondering, a new #Eberron book is indeed in the works! I can't say much about it now, but I've been working closely with the #DnD team and I can't wait to tell you more about it this summer!"

(not that nobody else does of course, but V2 is always helpfully chatting about it and reminding me)

@Rubiksmoose Haha. Well, for D&D 5e, it's a side effect of moderating /r/dndnext

@V2Blast Still. I like that you do it and that you transfer that knowledge here.

@Rubiksmoose Haha. Glad to help

2:29 AM
hey again @nitsua60

For news and such I often paste it here and in, like, 7 different Discord servers I'm in :P

@Shalvenay Hiya.

@nitsua60 want me to relink the video in Discord now, or do you have the old link, or is now not a good time?

Ben
@V2Blast Gotta spread the word lol

@Shalvenay I'm going to head off for the night. I watched a couple of minutes. Is it anything more than what it first appears?

2:33 AM
@nitsua60 if you got the whole stage intro, that's good enough :)

Okay.

Ben
2:51 AM
cc @GcL, @SirCinnamon. @Carcer asked the Levitation clarification question about the "20 feet altitude range"

@Ben I edited you question a bit. I'm not sure you want to be asking "is there errata" but rather "Does levitate have a maximum altitude?" and let answers bring up the errata is it exists.

Ben
@linksassin Yeah, I'm not sure about that either. Basically it came to a "Gm rules" vote, so I kinda wanna say more than just "these random people on the internet also agree with me"
But I do agree that official errata might be a bit more than is necessary, or available.

@Ben Well answers should be supported by evidence anyway. So you could mention that you are looking for official rules support from errata or sage advice. But that probably shouldn't be the main highlight question.

Ben
True
Edited.
Following the discussion we had the other day about it, I am going to believe that it's 20ft per round, because nowhere does it say "a maximum altitude"

3:09 AM
@Ben spoiler alert: there's definitely no errata.

Guys, I'm stupid.
I locked myself out of my discord account T_T

Ben
@Helwar … I'm dad?

heh

Ben
@Helwar Oh wow how'd you do that?
@Rubiksmoose Yeah, I have a pdf of the phb with errata highlights, and nothing is on the Levitate spell

oh, having 2fa activated, but I changed phone a couple of months ago. I just reinstalled windows because reasons, and reformatted my hard drive, where the key for recovering the 2fa was
I'm running one of those recovery thingies... ¬¬ I'm stupid

Ben
3:12 AM
@Helwar ruh roh

sorry I'm angry at myself and wanted to scream, but it's 5am so it might not be a good idea... So I vent here. Apologies

Ben
It's cool. I'm the same.

user15026
@Helwar oh no :( hopefully you can get it sorted out

@Ben For the record I'm pretty certain that there is no maximum altitude to the spell. On High Rollers they used it to climb out of a 1000ft canyon. However I don't have the rules support you are looking for

Ben
@linksassin [Ben-Kenobi hand wave]

3:14 AM
also the other day I locked myself out of the DNDBeyond campaign spot I was offered here, because I thought it would be easier to delete the character and start from 0 than to edit it all...

@Helwar Not a good week for you and accounts

Ben
@Helwar Oh noooooooooooooooooooooo

also, to pitch into your Levitate discussion, no maximum altitude at all :)
@linksassin nope. I should have learned, but apparently I'm not a good student!

Ben
Yeah. At this point, I'm convinced there isn't... I just wanna bring it to the GM with sufficient evidence to say more than "I think it's this"

@Helwar I think you should be able to recover the DnDBeyond one by finding the original link again.

Ben
3:16 AM
@Helwar perhaps the mistakes were just bad teachers?

But maybe it was a one use link. I haven't used it as a DM so I don't know what your options are

@linksassin I was given the link here, months ago :P I'm hoping I remember the name of the generous chatizen that did it T_T

Ben
I believe @miniman or @BESW have double proficiency in chat-search-fu..?

it's the same group of chatizens playing tomb of annihilation, if anyone knows who's who :P

@Helwar I believe it was NautArch
At least I know Naut was offering spots in his dndb campaign account for a long time and he was the only one I know who did so.
But you won't be able to ping him here in chat since it has been too long since they were in this room.

3:21 AM
@Helwar Hmmm... Looks like he might have sent it to you in a privnote:
Oct 2 '18 at 15:16, by NautArch
@Helwar https://privnote.com/dCI7izUZ#tvGA8FqfG

it was nautarch, yeah!
it looks so ungrateful of me, not even remember who gave it to me T_T

Oct 2 '18 at 15:15, by NautArch
@Helwar You want access to the chatizen 'campaign' i created? Lots of slots left. All current rulebooks are in.

Ben
[adds linksassin to "list of users with double proficiency in search-fu"]

I was using the search tool too
it's great, it goes WAY back

@Ben I've learned from my time in here. BESW gave me a few tips a while back.

3:23 AM
@Helwar you could try pinging them in this room though.

This was my search: Helwar as said by NautArch chat.stackexchange.com/…

Ben
@Helwar I'm terrible with names. I will legitimately forget peoples names within 5 minutes of learning them, and will only remember after extended exposure to said person, and multiple reminders.

@Ben Same. Despite the fact that I did remember this time.

yeah I found him in D&D beyond!

@Ben In person I'm terrible at names. I'm much better on SE because your name is attached to literally everything you do.

3:25 AM
I'll try to message him there and ask again T_T

I'm sure they won't mind :)

Ben
@linksassin This is true.
We are all running around with nametags on SE. Not so much IRL

Sigh. If only.

Ben
I mean, a lot of those "Utopia" stories that remove names and replace them with barcodes solves that problem. At least then everyone does have a nametag… :P

Or Paranoia style sci-fi where they are displayed on a HUD.

3:32 AM
I messaged them! Let's hope they don't mind

If I know Naut, they certainly will not.

@Rubiksmoose I'm kinda obsessed with massive Augmented Reality, I'm writing a short story mostly based on that

Ben
@Rubiksmoose Well, you know more than that, surely.

@Ben XD touche
@Helwar oh nice!
Just for fun?

anyone can just swipe their thumb on the other arm and they get a nifty little screen, and info from everything around. People has MMO style nametags on them, stores too, etc..
@Rubiksmoose 50% fun, 50% training myself? It's my hope that someday I can write something people would enjoy to read :)

3:35 AM
@Helwar very cool! If you ever want someone to help read something you wrote and give honest feedback, I'm willing to do so.
I'm honestly not sure how good I am at giving writing feedback, but my writing friends seem to appreciate it.

@Rubiksmoose I'd really love to have a writing group! I'm spanish though... That might prove a challenge :P

@Helwar That would make things quite difficult (assuming things are written en espanol)

yeah, they are

since I have, at most , a 1st grade grasp on the language.

I was part of a writing group before, I wrote everything in spanish then spent way too long translating it to english
:P

3:37 AM
@Helwar oh yeah, that sounds awful honestly
for you I mean

it was fun too because I read a crapton of english, but actually writing is working a completely different muscle
I learnt a lot
but took too much time

@Helwar Are you on the Writing stack?

I am but I don't visit too much, really

speaking of the Writing stack, there was a recent HNQ there about subverting the tropes of a train heist...and it had me thinking of something that didn't seem to come up in any of the answers I saw to it

what was it?

3:44 AM
a railroad, when it's moving cargo (save for stuff that moves in unit train volumes), is basically a jumbo package sorting system, not much different from how mail or parcel delivery services work, fundamentally :)
so -- why would you go through all the trouble of basically doing an armed heist on a parcel delivery/shipment truck when instead, you could attack the backend system that's responsible for making sure stuff gets to where its supposed to (think social engineering :)

@Shalvenay Damn... that's cool

@Shalvenay that's a really neat idea!

Very Ocean's 11 type thing. Don't steal it, get them to give it to you willingly.

it seemed to fit the OP's char better than the classical tropey action-flick train heist scene

@Shalvenay Why not submit an answer? I'd upvote that.

3:47 AM
@linksassin I'm not on Writing, that's about the only reason why not....

my own train hest scene is just a red herring, to distract the protagonists... They don't wanna steal anything, just annoy them and keep them guessing. Not as fun as someone changing the adress on the package ^^

Ben
@Shalvenay What's stopping you from joining?

@Ben inertia I suppose? :) I might just, given the reaction to the idea I'm getting here though

Ben
@Shalvenay You really do have a skill for thinking outside the box, and that is a powerful skill :)

@Shalvenay Writing could use more members. There isn't many of us. There is also a much lower bar for expertise than here on rpg. Plus subjective discussion is allowed there since its pretty difficult to do not be subjective about writing.

3:55 AM
@linksassin Can you not be subjective in writing? I mean, unless you are talking grammar...

@Helwar Exactly. Hence the different site scope over there. Still gets some good answers though.

@linksassin gaaah, it got protected :/

in fact, the first SE I ever knew of, was the worldbuilding one :P
I loved reading that, such great ideas. I hope the writing one is as inspiring :)

@Shalvenay Damn. Well... if you ever get the rep to answer it. I'll upvote it then.
@Helwar Writing is less about idea generation, it's the craft of writing. What to write is off-topic. But you still get some cool discussion.

it's not that worldbuilding were about IDea generation... it's more really about finding help to refine the worlds you were writing. But you saw someone that did X thing, and maybe you got an original idea out of that

Ben
4:04 AM
@Shalvenay Aww man!
Ok, so new user came in and posted a question, it was unclear, got a couple of DV's, and close votes. It has since been deleted. I feel like that is in response to the "negative" response they've received.
Would it be wrong to undelete and clarify the situation?

@Ben Yes it would. There was already a clarifying comment left. That particular post really was just a rant. A comment was left to get them to include a question. "Wat do" was editing in just before the question got closed and now it is deleted.
I would like to be able to discuss with the user but that question absolutely had to be closed.
If a user chooses to delete their question that is ok. They are allowed to. Hopefully they come back with a better version of it if there is more to it than a rant.

Ben
4:20 AM
Fair enough

which question, out of curiosity? if it's okay to link it

I scanned the wrong hard drive. It's morning already, I'll leave the PC on while it scans the actual hard drive I had to scan T_T
@V2Blast If it has been deleted? how?

@Helwar 10k rep users (I think it's 10k) can see deleted stuff

uh, sometimes they can see dead posts!

4:28 AM
We can always see them; they're just incredibly difficult to find.

yeah
questions in particular
answers are easy: they're below the question :P

@Miniman it was a Sixth Sense reference but... yeah :P

ah. seems salvageable, but yeah. up to the user whether they want to try. a diamond mod could explain how to fix up the post if they wanted
@Helwar Haha, I understood your reference :)

Ben
4:31 AM
@V2Blast Which was my intention, before it got deleted

@linksassin found a question there to answer (it's the one about exclamation points in error messages)

@Helwar Uh, oops.

@Shalvenay Having a different username there threw me for a second. Good answer.

@linksassin yeah, I really wish I could clean that up, but fixed it manually

@Shalvenay Well now I'm looking forward to your train heist answer. If it's worth going to the effort of creating an account and answering another question just to get. I hope you get the rep reward for it

4:54 AM

A: How do I subvert the tropes of a train heist?

ShalvenayMake the railroad do the heavy lifting This will sound weird, but the "train heist" tropes you are talking about are predicated on assumptions that are rather inconsistent with how railroads move goods. In particular, freight railroads are basically jumbo package delivery systems, with much mor...

It seems that since my question didn't make it onto the Hot list, it seems to hve fixed itself up a little.

BenSo in my current game, I am playing as an Air Genasi, which gives me access to the Levitate spell (emphasis mine): One creature or object of your choice that you can see within range rises vertically, up to 20 feet, and remains suspended there for the duration. The spell can levitate a target...

So the religion question is open again. However, our push to get supported answers seems to have resulted IMO in some very good, quality answers.
@BESW Oh man, that's actually really good.

@nitsua60 DaleM is laconic to the degree that I suspect he might be the subject of some sort of dark curse relating to how many words he's allowed to use, so he surely wouldn't waste any of them on this frivolity

@Rubiksmoose Open again with the specifica of "third round of close-votes was stopped in review"

@Carcer hahaha. He does seem to value brevity quite a bit.
@Someone_Evil Hm what does that last part mean?

12:48 PM
It's been closed and opened twice and there is currently a close vote pending, but the reviewers decided to Leave Open. I think it is good (and clearly needed) we're having the conversation on unfounded answers.

@Someone_Evil ah! I see. Yeah that makes sense.
@Someone_Evil We've touched on it several times before, but I think we finally made a bit of progress this time around.
Or at least came to a better understanding of our options here.
I'm pretty confident that newest question on beastmaster adding to the challenge is a dupe.
Maybe not though...

1:29 PM
So, I'm pretty excited. My wife and I are closing on our first house today :)
Just counting down the hours...

@Rubiksmoose WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Tell me all about it!

Woo! we just got ours this past January
it's exciting! also a lot of work

So much work

it never ends. there's always something that needs to be fixed or improved. or mowed

oh man, well its a 1925 bungalow, hardwood floors, and a really stylish interior, decent sized yard (which we will be gardening in) and a basement. Luckily no work has to be done on it to make it livable or anything (or at least nothing that we know about)

1:34 PM
Which means, you can't stress yourself out about "getting everything done", because you will never get everything done.

@Rubiksmoose it sounds nice!
@goodguy5 yeah no kidding

@goodguy5 ^that will be a mental hurdle I expect to have to crest very soon lol

@Rubiksmoose Any aging appliances or anything? I'm asking for home warranty reasons. Our boiler was reaching End of Life when we bought the house two years ago. So, we're just waiting for it to die... because it's going to be like a 10k bill that the home warranty company is going to eat

@G.Moylan Thanks! It's been a bit harrowing as far as the buying process because of some poor luck, but it seems like we are finally through the tunnel

if you don't own a power drill get one. it is the most valuable tool you can own

1:36 PM
@G.Moylan and an extended screw bit kit.

@goodguy5 oh yeah. Actually several. Water heater and AC will need to be replaced soon. Or at least they are a bit beyond end of life.

If you can get the realty company to cut you a deal on a home warranty, I recommend it.

most of my internal appliances are old, fortunately covered by warranty. we'll see whn they give out
two heater/ACs, and water tank

@G.Moylan most definitely! Great advice. We've been living in a rented house for a couple years so we've had house-y type things to do. Of course that is going to be ratcheted up once we own the place, but we're at least mildly well-equipped at this point I think.

that was our boat. apartments for a few years then a rental home for 1, then we bought this place

@goodguy5 I've never even heard of a home warranty, what is the usual way one gets one? It's never even been brought up in our purchasing process.
@goodguy5 We actually don't know the AC works (the owners say it does) because it was too cold to test it for all three inspections (I hate you Michigan).

a home warranty protects the buyer in the event something breaks. it's supposed to guard you against things that managed to pass inspection but are likely to break soon anyway
they typically cover appliances

It's more like "Insurance" than a proper "warranty", imo.

Like anything insurance-adjacent, it's a cost-benefit issue.

they're typically worked into your escrow calculation

I think mine is like $60 a month? but I'd have to look to be sure.

Interesting. It might be a bit late for that at this point then? Since we are signing in hours?

1:43 PM
it should be a line-item on your escrow breakdown. ours is $500 for the year and is covered by our mortgage payment
probably but you can get them after-the-fact. might be a bit more pricey.

There's no harm in asking the realty office if it's something they work with or offer.

also you will be inundated with "mortgage insurance" mail. Don't buy it it's all loan sharking crap

And it might not be worth it to you. A water heater and AC are "only" a thousand or so dollars.

a lot of it will be labeled to look "urgent"
well, if the water tank leaks everyehwere it'll be a few more than that. They also do regular maintenance

Like I said, the only reason we keep paying for it is that 10k doom of Domacles hanging over our heads

1:45 PM
we had an issue with our dishwasher and they came out and serviced it

uuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Don't get me started on my dishwasher.
I had to have 10 technicians out and was on the phone for at least 20 hours over 18 months

was it suffering the madness of Demogorgon?

4 technicians to look at the original 20-year old dishwasher and determine that it was Dee-Eee-Dee, ded.

5 technicians to deliver, install, and try to fix the replacement which was just a lemon for no reason.

delivered the replacementreplacement and I'm still trying to get paid for it.

@goodguy5 wooooooooooow. How the heck did that happen?

(up one)
but according to other people I know IRL that use the same company, I just have stupid luck with these sorts of things.

1:49 PM
I'm in that boat with a landscaper. Rave reviews everywhere and I can't get them to show up during their scheduled time to give me a quote
3 times now
I just need my yard graded, it's kinda important

It's always weird when that happens.
Everyone: This product/service is great
Me: Well, this has been awful
@G.Moylan oof. Preventative or Responsive?

the house came like that so a little fo both
I should have just had them fix it.

I specifically looked for a place that wasn't super downhill.
@G.Moylan I mean, have you had any issues yet, or are you just preventing impending issues?
Water is so mean.

@G.Moylan Glances at yard... C-. That'll be $5000 please.
@goodguy5 Water is the worst.

ha!
I'm a little mad that I didn't think of a letter grade for the yard, myself.
"A"
for "Absolute train wreck"

1:59 PM
B for "boring as all get out"
"C" is for "Cute"
So @G.Moylan has a Cute- yard.

"E" is for "EEEEK!!!!" ; i.e. - full of mice

@goodguy5 hahaha also good for terrifying statues or spiders
Anyways ours will eventually be "F" "Full of fantastic food and fun"

"D" is for "Delayed"; i.e. - "D" came after "E" and "F" because reasons.

ha

@Rubiksmoose our back yard that is, apparently there are city ordinances against front lawn vegetable gardens.
@Derpy I imagine our garden will be "D" for quite some time lol

2:07 PM
@Rubiksmoose oh, by the way... quick trivia.
> Over the garden wall
I let the baby fall.
My mother came out
And gave me a clout
Over the garden wall.

@goodguy5 not yet so I guess preventative
@Rubiksmoose lol I'll take it

@G.Moylan Well just wire me over that cash, and I'll mail it over. Do you prefer crayon or marker?

@Rubiksmoose crayon but it needs to be Jumbo

@G.Moylan Well yeah, how else am I going to make a sheet of paper with only a letter on it look good? Gotta be jumbo. I mean c'mon I'm a professional here.

@Rubiksmoose Glitter glue?

2:13 PM
@Someone_Evil That's obviously only for bad customers.
Lots of extra glitter in the envelope as well.

Q: How certain is a caster of when their spell will end?

sptrashcanIn D&D 5e, many spells have a fixed duration measured in common units of time - minutes, hours, days and so on. Does the caster of a spell have any special insight as to when a spell they cast will end, and if so, is this knowledge vague ("about half", "very nearly gone") or precise ("in five, fo...
