Hey, Fatefolk, I'm positive I saw something (in Core?) about two-point compels for super intense situations. But now I can't find it.
Anybody know if that was just a fever dream?
> At least it's not raining. If you self-compel when you have no fate points, you can also add a depressing environmental aspect with two free invokes.
I found "escalating compels" in Jade FATE. Maybe that's what I'm remembering.
Did some more testing of LLKM tonight after wrapping up our first SG-13 adventure.
Trogdor rolled Megasuper Protohydrazoid, a monster with no features except abilities which let it acquire features later.
This led to the game lasting so long Monster Island was destroyed and nobody won.
Our SG-13 session ended with a PC being so disgusted by a goa'uld snake that he shot at it and missed, wounding the snake's intended host instead--so the snake took another nearby person as host and fled.
Hey, does anyone have SSD's link to a reddit post where he describes a custom move for Dungeon World for when a player returns to the party after missing a session?
@SevenSidedDie Summoning you for a link... see above post... see animal sacrifice for summoning spell... so much yummy ritual blood... you must come...
@BESW he had so many of them, too! IIRC his first iteration was 2x Voracious Learner, Regeneration, and Transform -- and he transformed and acquired Regeneration and Transform (again).
@doppelgreener apparently, the idea of building a list of all buffs to a certain value is not working, because some bonuses are not fixed but calculated, therefore I can't pre-generate them :(
and a different one for each spell or effect, so my firt task will be "calculate the correct caster level for this spell, based on feats, equip and classes. Good luck, Zachiel, you will need it.
The next week is going to be interesting. I'm gonna push this freelance artist thing and this self-teaching thing. Gotta get organized. Much more organized.
@SPavel There is! BESW has the grand plan for it; Trogdor and I will be playing SG team members who're exploring plot threads the SG-1 show never handled in depth.
@SPavel he somehow has expertise and knowledge in dozens of subjects each single one of which it would take a professor a lifetime of study to accumulate whilst just being in his 30's, i want to know what kind of time magic let him do all of that and get to the gym.
Wizards of the Coast's D&D Lifeboat @ Enworld
As of Nov 5th, WOTC closed their community forums. Enworld has created a "lifeboat" and moved over most, if not all of the forum content. Things are a bit messy right now as users claim ownership over their posts and whatnot, but the content has been...
Hi everyone. The link in this answer to the Enworld WotC Lifeboat forum has gone dead. I've pinged @JoshuaAslanSmith about it but figured I should also reach out here since we've got a bunch of D&D experts and probably fans of Enworld. Is there an equivalent link available we should be pointing to?
Greetings all, I am baching it this weekend. May the Moosehead be with me.
@BlackVegetable If you need me to, I can try and sacrifice a few virgins and cast that ninth level spell Summon SSD. There will be a finders fee, however ....
heheh. P.S I have a bit of time (an hour or so) right now if you wish to hop over to the Spoil-Lair and talk some more, but I can understand if you'd rather be sober when doing that
OK, I have made a beer influenced command decision. Off to roll20 I go, to see who'll want another body for the adventure. Random life moment approaches ...
I've played basically every D&D edition (incl PF) save for 4e (and DMed 3.5e and 5e), played and DMed (badly) Fate, played Roll for Shoes + a bit of DW, classic Traveller, Do: Pilgrims of the Flying Temple, Against the Darkness, and a smidge of Numenera
want to try Savage Worlds, either GURPS or Mutants & Masterminds, maybe Burning Wheel...
I've read over GURPS (3e) quite a bit, but couldn't get my group to try it, so I can't help you there :) SW, M&M and BW are closed books. That is, I've never read them :)
