or those who produce mana with other means
like elves
(i don't take into account landfall decks since... well... there wasn't any at the time)
did you have good countermeasures against early aggro decks?

It's not my deck.
I've told you pretty much all I remember about it.
I do remember that Dromar the Banisher covered a multitude of sins.
Combined with Crosis the Purger he could make many decks weep.

10:51 AM
I dislike constructed Magic formats
It's a lot of bloat and sifting through a bajillion cards
And probably buying a lot of them directly
Sealed and draft are both more fun and, well, compact?

I pretty much agree
What i found to combine the best of the two worlds is cube drafts

What are those?

it's drafts but instead of opening boosters you make them from cards selected in advance
so you can have a theme
for example "nothing in this draft costs less than 3 mana"
or "everything is multicolored"
all the cube cards are choosen by the same person, and the boosters are randomly constituted from these cards

Huh.

you can try to balance your cube by putting only cards of a similar level or power, or intentionally make it completely unbalanced

10:58 AM
Interesting, but I prefer the luck of the draw, tbh

yep, but it means you have to buy boosters each time

Well, I don't play too often
Usually when I get invited for a free pre-release sealed as a perk of having worked with Russia's largest boardgame publisher :)
Since they get sent the packages and don't really have a use for them

Huh.
actually for the cube you still have the "luck of the draw" aspect (unless the cube is perfectly balanced), but I agree as you know the cards there will be it is less thrilling

11:12 AM
Yeah

@AnneAunyme I have a friend who constructed a pauper's cube, it's pretty neat. Only commons!

4:38 PM
@LegendaryDude: I have seen the opposite, a cube with only rare cards (many of them being proxies). They were chosen so they all did very weird stuff and it was pretty tough to get a strong deck in the end.

Hello community I wanted to interact with way more than I have so far

hello dot
i have 5 minutes to interact with you
:)

You're probably better off using them for something else then, my phone's almost dead :(
Also thanks for the offer :D
I was hoping to ask you to share some of your stories from PnP Campaigns/Sessions you've partaken in/hosted that you have fond memories of. I recently gained the chance to DM a few levels of my groups adventures and as I've never done that before I want to be able to make it memorable

PnP?
(sorry, I'm not an English native speaker, acronyms are sometimes hard to get)

Pend and Paper
(those 4% last surprisingly long)

4:51 PM
@dot_Sp0T To be clear, are you asking for our stories?

@nitsua60 not necessarily only your stories, but yes

Gotcha--didn't want to flood the chat with uninteresting-to-those-who-weren't-there stories if they hadn't specifically been requested =)

e.g. I doubt that the story of Old Man Henderson is by any of the users on here. But it still is a good story to read up on, in my opinion, to prepare oneself for the task of managing a Campaing or part thereof

What system are you running, out of curiosity?

We could also create a specific channel for sharing, or a meta thread if no such thing has been done on here before(?)

4:59 PM
I'm thinking back to a lot of fond memories and the common threads seems to be surprises, characters achieving at something outside of their specialty, and players learning a "new trick," as it were.

I'll be taking over the next 2-3 levels (maybe I can squeeze out some more), of a DnD 4e Campaign
I was planning to do something open just laying out a few threads and workin on from there; as the part of the campaign I had a chance to be a player of so far was mostly straight forward with some parts where we didnt get the DMs intentions at all and went with our own ideas for a bit

I love Old Man Henderson XD

@nitsua60 RE: Rob Steel's question, it's much better than it was before but I agree that I think it's still a bit too broad (but now probably for different reasons). What do you think will help to improve it? I want to avoid overwhleming the user and/or telling him that it's "wrong again, but for different reasons"
Because I feel like that usually turns users off from our site

5:14 PM
@LegendaryDude I feel like one more upvote and an invite to chat is often helpful, but I'm obviously [selection-]biased.
Unfortunately Fortunately, I'm just stepping out to have a work-day lunch with my wife, so I won't likely be around to participate.

@nitsua60 nice save. ;)

5:51 PM
Hmm, I am not sure a question like that could fit the site even if it was narrowed down more

@Aaron It can. The first question was arguably better than the most recent edit.
The recent edit took it well into "too broad" territory.
But if it were sufficiently narrowed down to something like, "My BBEG has qualities X, Y, and Z, and he likes to use trickery and misdirection to befuddle his enemies. What spell choices of levels 1 - 5 most fit this?"
I think that's narrow enough that we can answer it.

6:21 PM
True.

IME, bad-guy wizards are the most complex to plan. So many options.
I hope he does drop by chat.

IME?
Oh
In My Experiance?

@Aaron yup

Oh, yeah. Sorry about that. :)

7:50 PM
No problem, I just hadn't seen that before
At first I thought it was a mistype of IMO but realized the letters were too far apart :P

I've seen IME and IMC (In My Campaign) in fairly frequent use so I didn't think to clarify.

O.O
I have no clue what those could be

in my experience but your mileage may vary i know right and but that's just my opinion and what do i know

no way, couldn't possibly be

WTJLYOM
(well that's just, like, your opinion, man)

I am an amateur and a fool!

May as well do both at the same time, I guess.

Q: Is it bad form to ask why a comment was deleted (in comment)?

joedragonsI had a clarification question on Can a creature use both its melee and ranged natural attacks during a full attack? so I left a comment which actually helped me formulate an answer. On writeup and review of the question over the last two days, I noticed there were 10 or so comments on the ticke...

@SevenSidedDie Record of Lodoss War is another D&D-ish anime. I haven't finished watching it - the DVDs are not well organised. They have several episodes as one "title" (in DVD technical terms), and don't even have a "chapter" at the start of the individual episodes
I believe it may have been the source of the art in at least one Japanese edition of D&D
