Yup.
Luckily, it amused me.
I've only been mistaken for a guy online, and then rarely.
Also in WoW, generally instead of "well-spoken and patient? Must be older!" I tended to get "well-spoken and patient? A GURL."
Nah.
@Pixie your feminine vibe is strong online, about the same level as greener's
I honestly thought he was female until someone told me.
huh, that wasn't an issue for me
[amused]
12:04
of course, I kinda have the issue of assuming 90% of people online are guys
probably not the best habit
@trogdor didnt you meet him under his old nickname?
huh?
yes
[Phone]
unless,... that depends which one you mean?
Well then that might have been easier.
12:07
I am quite feminine, yes. If someone's gonna make an assumption about my gender, they're likely going to assume female. It was always a bit of a surprise when they didn't.
I only know of one, and it goes NameSurname
ah yes that one
I suppose that made ir easy XD
@Pixie my native language uses gendered pronouns, therefore it's a non-issue, unless the speaker only uses present tense.
no one has mistaken me for a girl,..... but my brother was mistaken for my sister once
,..... for some reason
they are twins, but not that kind of twins
XD
I briefly mistook myself for a boy when I was 4 or 5. My voice sounded funny to me that day. Too low.
12:22
Sometimes when Troggy and his brother and I would go out together, folks would assume Troggy was the friend while his brother and I were related.
lol
actually, there were like, 4 guys he got mixed up with
...because he's shorter than us, I can only assume.
that I recall
Apparently I have a doppelganger on island too.
but they all had similar hair to him, and even my sister embarrassingly mixed one of them up for him once XD
12:25
I think I've spoken of my many, many doppelgangers before.
I've never met him, so I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing a lot of it is just "tall haole without a military haircut" isn't a very common sight here.
I had a doppelganger who,... was not really a doppelganger as far as I could tell
It keeps happening to me. Friends, random people, even my mother know people who look just like me. I only rarely see them for myself.
Now, in college there was another tall skinny guy with long brown hair and a black coat. He didn't walk anything like me, but standing still we were easy to mistake.

Once I walked up to a drugstore counter and the clerk stared at me briefly, and partway through the transaction, he said, "This is going to sound strange, but you look exactly like my girlfriend. I mean, exactly. This is so weird. I mean, not weird, but..." And this wasn't some weird attempt at hitting on me, either. He was amazed.
12:27
@Pixie is a Lowest Common Denominator.
Is that a reference?
not unless it is one I don't get
Nooo.
I just assumed it was in referance to having so many dopplegangers
12:34
Oh, I see. I was wondering if there were more to it than that which was going over my head. xD
My boyfriend theorizes that I'm a secret government project of clones deployed to combat the gay agenda, but it went terribly wrong. My old coworkers theorized that I was a robot.
I theorise that you will have been going to be in a horrible time travel accident.
oh god
not one of those
So many theories. Perhaps they're all true.
cloning experiment, all the clones of course have escaped
no way to know who the original is
Orphan Pink.
This article might be useful in improving these answers.
Sleep now. ttfn
12:50
night
I think my brother is really the only person I know who has actually had dopplegangers, or at least ones I ever saw myself
but then he also had an apparently disproportionate amount
people also thought it was me who was his twin instead of our sister,... and I don't think we look quite,.. THAT alike
13:18
@Pixie that's just plain spooky with the clerk
13:41
It was a pretty strange experience.
@Pixie Have you completed the storium poll?
I did.
@trogdor how's your new character going?
@Pixie Would you commit to it, when push comes to shove?
Well, it all depends on what's going on in my life at the time that it happens. xD But potentially.
@eimyr not much progress since I posted the doc XD
in case you have not seen him
some of his aspects I like, some of them are pretty rough, or even simply placeholders
I have not fleshed out his skills yet, and I have not fully formed the ideas behind the stunts I think I want
don't need it till Saturday at the earliest though
and I have been pretty busy so far
13:51
Aww. Kinda reminds me of Golem from Monster Rancher.
hmm
I did play one of the games
and saw some of the show
I love the drawing
such suchness
perhaps it was lurking in the back of my mind to some extent
XD
@Polyducks because of you I can't stop listening to Katamari Damacy OST.
In the anime, he was a gentle giant who loved flowers.
13:53
@eimyr thanks, I will try to capture such suchness in all my future work XD
@eimyr this is a blessing,... I think XD
@Pixie nice, that is actually what I was going for
@trogdor Have you tried adding some consummate Vs?
nope, those are for snakes and dragons XD
@trogdor He was the strongest but would only fight if he had to, especially if Holly were endangered, and he was scared of water.
scared of water? because he would sink?
Yeah, he was heavy and couldn't swim.
13:55
@trogdor what's your Trouble?
or whatever name it has in ARR
it doesn't exist in ARRPG
instead they have the idea that as many aspects as possible should be "double edged"
invoke-able for benefit and compel-able for misfortune
stupid auto correct
BURNINATE
ah, Witcher golems
this one was cool
the other ones were just magical killing slaves
yeah, I was about to say
usually when you ran into them they had one thing on their mind, and it was the opposite of making friends
14:03
Does Brooklyn have a lot of Physique?
I forgot. HArdness.
yep
he has 4 in this current setup of "hardness"
that is a lot
just 1 lower than the max you could get
and technically, I could point buy the rest if he really has this low number of skills in his modes
you get 30, the first amount you spend on the skills in your mode
banter is worth 9, and depending on the skills in those other two modes,... they could cost a lot less than that
(I just have not filled the skills in banter in yet, partly because I would need to open the PDF on the other computer XD)
how much does it cost to upgrade one skill?
I think it depends on a couple things
like how high it already is and how many modes contribute to it
but it doesn't get toooo high for any single skill
I would need to open the PDF to look the exact details up
I don't think it goes above,... 3?
could go as high as 4 or 5 though if I am misremembering
but that would be a skill you probably already have at least 4 anyway
anyway, I need the sleep thing
goodnight

Seeing that a question that I answered a year ago has a bounty on it now is making me kind of sad now.
I literally read every page on this list
granted, the answer isn't the best
@Smurfton well, the question's not exactly awe-inspiring, either
true
But it took a while to read that list
And I think Multiverser and Deliria count as sufficiently obscure that it's probably one of those two. (My bet's on mulitiverser though)
16:31
@Magician Had any luck on the next chapter, or no progress?
17:19
In case anyone didn't already know this, SevenSidedDie is actually a wizard.
He's probably also a black belt in the Google-Fu school of martial arts.

And I mean, yes, obviously I AM a lizard-person, but I don't think the mirror needs to remind me. I get enough of that from the CIA.
Celebrate “Pi Day” by being irrational and going on forever. #PiDay
Taken care of.
Hello, new person.
I'm not new. I go on forever.
Also I've been here twice before. I'm practically a regular.

@MaliceVidrine Welcome back, then ;)
Thank you! Welcome back yourself.
21:05
@Zachiel Malice is not a lurker.
Well, today I sort of am. But I have a good reason: I haven't figured out anything better to do yet.
Hey guys, I have a question
What's up?
I once asked a question in which I described how I had looked for some rules that covered a certain topic but couldn't find anything (this is D&D 5e btw)
and then I started getting downvotes and learned that what I was doing was basically a "research request" or something like that
it's a little fuzzy to me because it's been a while
I can't quite remember clearly
anyway, I'm working on a question now but I would like to avoid asking a bad question
so I'd like to hear your thoughts
Basically, my new question is something along the lines of "My DM and I were looking for a basis in the rules for how this one thing should work. We haven't found anything. Is there something in the rules that gives us a basis to work off of, or should my DM just make something up?"
of course, my question is a lot more specific than that, but that's the basic idea
is there anything wrong with this?
No, there's not.
"Research" is sometimes unpopular among certain individuals, if it's perceived as trivially easy to do, but the site itself doesn't have a problem with it so long as you've put some sort of effort into it. We're trying to get better at not judging that sort of thing.
21:22
Ah, ok
I've got the impression that questions like mine sometimes cause some irritation. And on top of that, my question is going to be tagged with rules-as-written which I get the impression is a touchy subject sometimes
rules-as-written because my DM can come up with her own ruling, we just want to know if there is something in the rules that states that things work the way that I expect vs. the alternative
Let me see if I can dig up a meta question on this.
Asking for obscure rules that are somewhere one can't find is usually fine. We have a lot of people, mainly occasional users, who ask really basic things asking us to read the manual in their stead, and -that-'s bad.
@Zachiel Ah, ok
yeah, it's not something as simple as "How do I make an attack" or something that has an explicit and well-defined section in the player's handbook
So, there's this and then there's this.
It's a spectrum of opinion, and we don't exactly police downvoting, but your question won't get closed and people really ought to give you the benefit of the doubt.
Ok, I think I'll go ahead and post it and I'll see how it goes
I think it's probably fine, I just wanted to check
Posted the question. Thanks, guys!
21:36
No problem. Good luck!
22:05
Sometimes, Paizo makes me sad.
Here, cheer up with a puppy that has the original Doctor Who opening credits on its forehead.
...unfortunately, I'm afraid of dogs.
....How about a cat?
Cats are better, though I generally prefer non-horrifying ones.
22:13
There you go.
Anyway, the specific gripe that I have is apparently, you can make a 0-LA Gargantuan Humanoid in PF by being a Rune Giant Aasimar.
Or presumably, any other Gargantuan Giant.
@DuckTapeAl How could this be?
@DuckTapeAl Yeah, I was looking at that one too. It's equally worrying from the other end of the spectrum - a Fine wizard is just wrong.
@Miniman Yeah, wizards should be stacking Int, not Cha.
"It should be noted that while any creature that breeds with a celestial may give birth to half-celestial offspring, only humanoids can give birth to aasimars."
"Non-human aasimars have the same statistics as human aasimars with the exception of size."
22:20
Did we learn nothing from Gilderoy Lockhart?
Ergo, if you have one celestial parent and one Giant parent, you take your Giant parent's size category, and are otherwise an Aasimar.
Since Giants are actually Humanoid (giant).
@DuckTapeAl what?
Stupid PF
In this case, I would be willing to bet that it was one designer making a poorly-thought-out idea in a sidebar on Aasimars.
Because Halfling Aasimars, which is the example they give, are totally fine.
One inattentive designer, one tired proofreader.
These are the things Gargantuan Humanoid Spiked Chain Fighters are made of.
22:28
Hmmm.
Some creature types have limits on what other creature types they can produce offspring with.
I doubt that helps a lot, because dragons.
Also, this is talking specifically about celestials. You can totally have a Celestial Giant mate with a non-Celestial Giant.
And I'm pretty sure some of the more powerful ones get shapechange.
Dear legalistic exception-based rule systems: this is why I left you.
Although to be fair, "The Exception of Size" would be a good name for an album.
And it's a heavy metal album, the cover of which shows four guys dressed as a beholder, an aboleth, a dragon, and a purple worm, brooding in front of a brick wall.

Q: What race are aasimar or tiefling and how to create them?

ruediI want to play an aasimar and was wondering why they always look like a human. An aasimar or a tiefling can also be a halfing or a gnome or whatever. My question is, are there any rules how to do an e.g. Aasimar Halfling? And if not, how do you solve this?

23:17
Bundle of Holding has classic (1e/2e) Paranoia
23:39
@DuckTapeAl Except not in Pathfinder, because spiked chain got nerfed into the ground.
