@doppelgreener it seems to be quite a few people T.T
Apparently it is world-wide and Skype is scrambling to fix it.
We are working to fix an issue which is preventing some users from logging in & using Skype. We apologize for any inconvenience.
13:37
"Some Users" I think they mean all users pretty much. At least most
No one in my workplace (15+ people in my immediate area) can use it.
"some users"
Thats a laugh
More like "Everybody"
In the world
Ok, if books published in white-wolf's hayday is considered 'small press', what exactly is big press in RPGs?
@Sandwich Some users. To be more precise, the not-Skype-business ones.
Also known as "real Skype"/"original Skype" users
microsoft segregates their business clients from the consumer plebs
@Tritium21 RPGs don't really do big press.
13:48
since Skype for business is just old lync made even wors
@BESW then its small press and micro press? is that the distinction that drivethru rpg is making?
but you know, having the same name mean you can now claim that "only half of Skype users are affected"
@Tritium21 You might want to link to where they're making such a distinction.
this is a list of mostly mid-90's whitewolf
mid-to-late-90's
That's not a strict hierarchical definition, that's a marketing gimmick.
13:52
Yes, which is why I am criticizing it.
Well. What you're doing is holding them to a standard they don't claim to value.
Does not seem very legitimate. No definition of small press or why things on that list are on that list in the position they're in. (It's not ratings, and I don't know if it's about sales.)
So, no point in trying to find out the meaning of it, there likely isn't one.
I complained to them now, so its off my chest
Skype's back up, btw.
It's like wondering why Twilight novels are in Young Adult instead of in Romance or Fantasy: the category is defined by what the distributor thinks will get the most potential customers looking at it, rather than any objective quality of the material.
13:57
@BESW They are in Teen Supernatural Fiction, for what its worth. Yes, that is a section of the book store now
Er...Teen Supernatural Romance
The barns and noble here moved the rpg section to put that in
... if I remember, next time I'm in my local book store I'll see what section it's in.
Its a big section at this one... almost completely displaced the true crime section... its down to one shelf
which makes the family secret santa kinda hard. I got my uncle last year... got him two long books... he was almost finished with one before the end of the party >.>
uh...probably some pretty harsh language in that
14:55
I complained to drivethru... now hottest small press has publishers...like UFO (never heard of them... which is what i want when i go to the small press section)

@mxyzplk @ObliviousSage I feel like you guys jumped on that attack bonus question a little harshly. You did not even point out the Tour or welcome them to the site politely just jumped strait into telling them what they did wrong.

@Aaron It needed closing and I didn't have time for more, had to get to work. Plus, new users should have just seen a bunch of popups about our help center and tour as they signed up, so it's a nicety but by no means necessary. Appreciate you adding it however.
Right. I understand I was just giving what I felt when I read it. It seemed more harsh than normal.

@Aaron Yeah, there's a lot of these guys lately and I tend to put time into curating them proportional to the time they put in - this one clearly didn't put any time or thought into it, so the likelihood he's even going to comeback to see an answer let alone edit is minimal. With limited time I'm prioritizing those who are trying more.
I encourage those with spare time to fill in the gap, 3 mods w/jobs can't do it all
22:32
@Tritium21 Hooray! That's good news. I see it now features a great variety of non-WW stuff after the #20 mark, rather than exclusively WW stuff.
