Q: Do - Experience with the journal

dindenverI just played Do: Pilgrims of the FlyingbTemple for the first time on Thursday. It went very well. I played again on Saturday, it did not go as well... It almost seemed like the journal was a distraction at times. Was this jst a symptom of the group, or has someone else had this experience as w...

Q: Why couldn't I submit changes to a question?

wraith808I tried to edit the question "Do: Experience with the journal" to be of a more a question and answer format, following some of the other changes I've seen on the site. I changed the question to "How does the Journal in Do: Pilgrims of the Flying Temple affect play of the game?" but I couldn't su...

Q: What happened to this answer?

user1637I am not sure if anyone else has been following the question Does Stress reset to zero between sessions in Maid RPG? I upvoted and commented on an answer which has since disappeared. I suspect that it was deleted by the author, which leads me to question why. I (personally) felt that it was a ...

@waxeagle Sure! We have no idea how to make that happen.
@ErnestMueller I'm sure the community team could help :)

Q: System for Setting: Misfits

gomadOn the recommendation of one of my players, I'm watching Misfits, a British TV show about kids (Their ages aren't so far explicitly stated; they're old enough to drink and young enough to live at home, so late-teens to early 20s, I guess) serving community-service sentences who get super powers. ...

hah!
btw hi @waxeagle
@DForck42 howdy
@waxeagle how did you guys get The Oracle and Dice service thing here in chat?
@DForck42 the oracle is just the name for our RSS feed. I can walk you through adding that
the dice service is our own little RPG easter egg...

if you go to the room menu and click "manage feeds" you add RSS feeds to your room

@waxeagle awesome! thanks!
17:14
@DForck42 you can do meta too :)
btw if you have a high volume (I haven't looked) you might consider making your feed less intrusive than the one we have here :).
@waxeagle ehh. the way lit's going i'm not sure it'll make it out of beta
@DForck42 well then the feed settings we have here are perfect :)
first 2 weeks or so was awesome, since then the traffic has slowly decreased
i honestly feel like i'm guarding a mostly abandoned warehouse that i'm trying to get attention to
@DForck42 gardening feels like that some days too
17:20
@DForck42 gardening is low traffic/low volume, but there are troves of useful answers there and we have solid experts...
@DForck42 yikes on volume, how is the quality?
<100/day is really worrying...it will pick up in a few weeks when google starts finding you, but its going to be a slog...
@waxeagle quality's not bad, just have to keep the book recommendations in line, which isn't hard if the asker is willing to edit their question
@DForck42 I understand that. How is the trial going on those?
@waxeagle not bad, but it's hard to judge right now though cause of the lower volume
typically if i see a book recommendation that doesn't meet my standards (i'm a little bit lax) i'll add a comment linked to the reqs
if they don't change it in a day or two i'll close it (hasn't happened yet)
or if the community was there it could potentially be closed by then

Q: How to handle lack of PC communication?

DForck42I've currently got a DFRPG group, and it's struggeling a little bit. The main issue right now is that there's a good lack of communication between PC's. How can I encourage the players to communicate in-game more without being overbearing?
