is trying to figure out how to tell his DM "I don't want to add another player this week" or "If we are going to add a new player can we at least choose a plot line that isn't in the middle of a game day"
@BrianBallsunStanton getting a bit sick of the flux in our group...
@waxeagle yeah, working people in is hard ...
@BrianBallsunStanton one of our players has a brother who is in town, he came and played Dread with us a few weeks ago, that was great, I encouraged it. But now we are shifting our game around to accommodate him showing up. I'm going to try to convince the DM to start a new plotline or a one off...

@waxeagle yes
We are literally in the middle of a game day in our main story line. I hate (rather strongly) the idea of A expanding our party to 7, and B. inserting a player mid day...
@BrianBallsunStanton should I volunteer to prep and DM or not?

Q: Is there any other RPG that includes snailmail-writing as an integral component?

TimIn De Profundis, an important part of the game is writing and sending letters to the other players. It's played in real-time with mail correspondence being the only form of contact between players. It's usually done by writing traditional snailmail for the sake of immersion. This is the only gam...

Q: Should an answer based on a comment by a different user be considered for the accepted answer?

wraith808I asked a question "Recommendations on how to introduce an inexperienced player to the FATE combat system". mxyzplk♦ responded with a comment that led me to an answer, but wasn't an answer in and of itself. I responded with my actual answer with what worked for me. My question is, should my an...

@user1637 Yeah, I guess you see me.

how's it going?
I'm around as well :)
16:14
hey. "how's it going" to you too
@user1637 going well, sort of a busier work day than I've had in a while
@wax: oh yeah? opposite for me. held up on someone else's stuff
@user1637 Well, our boss is heading out of town for 3 weeks starting Monday, so our group needs to get together this afternoon and test some stuff so my other coworker and I can present it to the folks that need it next week...
@wax: Ah, rough. Good luck with that. I suppose you're not up for much chatting, then?
@wax: I'd like to know what type of games you play, but we could definitely pick up that discussion at another time.
@user1637 I play 4e and have DM'd Dread a couple of times
16:33
Pretty busy at work here, too. I play 4e, and have yet to dabble in anything else.
Do you guys GM or play mostly?
@user1637 mostly play, I've only GM'd Dread...Looking to branch out a bit though.
@user1637 I've mostly played, but been GM'ing for a couple months
other people (ie: Pat, mxy) have been GM'ing for years
cool. I'm mostly a player, as well, but I will be GMing a one-off this weekend.
@user1637 good luck
I'm going to be doing a mini con game in a couple of months, so I need to put something together
16:46
thanks for the luck. what system and type of game are you thinking?
16:57
@user1637 Pathfinder. I can't decide between traditional dungeon crawl or a incoming hordes idea
I've never played with people i don't know.
Have you done that before?
@user1637 yes I run a game-shop game now

Q: Does adding Aspect Scope in Dresden Files change the feel of the game?

wraith808I was listening to a podcast for Diaspora, and they were talking about aspect scope. Basically, in Diaspora, this sets scope on the Aspects available, and only one Aspect per scope can be used on any roll. The scopes are pretty self-explanatory - personal, opponent, environment, etc... from the...
