"NOTHING WORKS SUDDENLY!!" - "How about you apply the same fix to all similar loops?" - "aaaaaah."
And PHP being one of my first programming languages, it's a great one to me. :p
Do you know how you recognise someone who's a programmer to the core?
K, on the server where it's running, go to the command line (Start->Run->cmd). Type cd drive:\path\to\folder and press Enter Then type dir and copy the list
^When that's their first reflex when telling someone to list what's in a directory.
@Ariane Yeah, I think with experience you get to know that most of the time, errors are caused by silly mistakes. When you first start out, you tend toward thinking it is some hugely complicated problem - like you assume that the only possible explanation is you have found a bug in the language itself that no one has discovered before :)
No, since you don't have Gentoo until you have installed Gentoo, therefore you don't need to install wgetpaste on Gentoo since it is already part of Gentoo, you see?
One you have Gentoo (and internet and something you want to wgetpaste) you can wgetpaste.
I am running a desktop computer at work to monitor our video surveillance. In order to maximize our viewing capabilities it was setup on a quad-monitor display. The one issue I am having with the quad-display is windows over-lapping slightly onto the other monitors. It is setup on a 2x2 displa...
You want the old user accounts application not the the new metro one - the "Family Safety" settings link is hidden on the bottom left corner of that - thats the second one on the first row

I listen to an extensive music library through WMP on Vista. I hate WMP's pathetic graphic equalizer. Where or how can I get something to enhance my audio, choose from more presets, adjust them, etc, for a beginner?
For all posts made on or after August 17 2010, any image urls in the form of i.imgur.com were changed to i.stack.imgur.com network-wide.

Ok well I'm a complete novice when flashing BIOS (done it many many years ago. like in the 90's) and a quick google search everything wants me to install a utility to do so. Machine I want to flash has no OS on it currently. Is there another straight forward way to flash a bios? (Update it)
Ok, serious now. I never coded in VB. I have run a few existing VB scripts. I have modified them with 'cut-and-paste-and-guess programming' and I have broken them by adding new groups to Active Directory. (The scripts read information out of AD and broke when I added a group with an ampersand in it).
Is there a recommended tool or anything to benchmark an SSD? I've got an old (~4 year old model, in use 3 years) SSD in my laptop and I'm wondering if it's why my laptop seems much slower and gets "read thrashing" when my desktop's SSD totally doesn't
Hello, y'all! I need some help figuring out a solution for doing backups on a LAN with an Active Directory Domain. I asked a question here: serverfault.com/questions/471048/… but have only gotten flak for asking it, I'm thinking to delete my question.
The Open Source and free BackupPC might be a solution for you:

A clever pooling scheme minimizes disk storage and disk I/O. Identical files across multiple backups of the same or different PCs are stored only once resulting in substantial savings in disk stora...
@OliverSalzburg I'll give one of those a try. I hate to replace the old thing but I'm realizing a $90 SSD today is better than the 4 year old $600 SSD that's in there. Just not sure if it's the SSD that's the problem
Then you probably have the problem of an invoice on person 1's computer, a corrected invoice (same on, just aname fix) on the computer of person #2, a reminder from user 3, ... ?
How can i save ffmpeg file-info output to a variable?

So I had a strange, strange experience yesterday. A year ago we applied for all kinds of government help-me junk when I was out of work and going to school. Turns out we got a food card but didn't know about it. So we got a letter saying we had to spend $1,200 on food by the 21st or lose the balance.
I don't understand how people can go hungry in the US. There's so many government programs...
@Luke It's crazy. We were drowning in help we didn't even need. I always thought it would be awful and stressful to quit work and go to school. I'd never had so much money and food.
Add some more info to the question (see slhck's comment to your post) and it could get reopened. It was very hard to understand exactly what you needed from the question as written.
@Joseph Question reopened, thanks for adding more info. Note that we can't smell if you already thought about chroots, which is the go-to situation here :)
@r.tanner.f They had their email tech add the Google DNS server as the primary, and keep the router DNS server. Completely took out the new Windows Server DNS in the list, so all the names were not working until multiple reboots and someone finally told me another tech was messing in there
I can't think of how to make this work, but it seems like something that should be doable..
I currently own my own domain, and have been using dyndns.com's "custom DNS" to allow me to redirect 'example.com' to my website at home, which is on a dynamic IP.
I've now switched over to a VPS solutio...
