11:17 PM
hi guys
i can't click a drop down menu....
it's not working

Did you try turning it off and on again ?
4

javascript?
it's like an anchor that should expand to a drop down menu when I click it....

No, he BBC. It is a quote from IIT guys. I sometimes use it when I have no idea what people are asking. E.g. which drop down menu. In windows. On a random website, etc

on another website

Usually it works as a gently hint as to 'explain a bit more'

11:21 PM
ok...

I guess in this case it failed.

I am on another website.

Is your mouse connected to the computer? Can you click something else besides the anchor link? Is the anchor link visible? Does the anchor link stand still? What browser are you using? Which website are you visiting? ...?

Can you actually name the website?

no.. it's a secret, take that speaker icon on the top right for example...
if i click it something should happen...
unfortunately, just recently, it stopped working for me

11:24 PM
Why do you use the word it if we don't know what it is?

that speaker icon besides the "all rooms" button?
it's basically the same functionality...

Your browser?

firefox
16.0.1

thanks...will try them

11:29 PM
@WikiWitz: Bottom line of the story, something is horribly broken regarding menus in Firefox 16.0.1, consider downgrading to a previous version or upgrading to a nightly version.

hmm... unlikely though
this wasn't the first time I was 'on that same web page'
didn't work but thanks for the help though bye
who me?
xD
let me change the subject....

No, go try a different version of the browser.

I already know C, if (ever) I wanna learn C++ would it be better to...

...read a book.

learn C++ from scratch and try to view programming from a different perspective..
?
OR
learn only the differences

11:37 PM
...read a book. :D

already read one...
i stopped from the chapters on OOP
everything was the same as C (or am I wrong?),

C++ is nothing like C

so If i wan to learn C++, I just need to learn it's OOP capabilities and syntaxes?
if you look at it from the paradigms' perspective

If you want to learn C++, you need to learn a book.

ok ok end of discussion
thanks

... --> Thinking in C++ --> Stroustrup --> Effective C++ --> More Effective C++ --> C++ Templates --> ...
If you end up using plain pointers, malloc, free, char *, printf and anything along those lines you're not doing C++; people that don't read properly through the well-known books tend to go down that road.
