A: Stream desktop using VLC

p.vitzliputzli vlc.exe screen:// :screen-fps=30 :screen-caching=100 --sout '#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,vb=4096,acodec=mpga,ab=256,scale=1,width=1280,height=800‌}:standard{access=http, mux=ts, dst=192.168.0.1:8080}'

could do with an explanation

Yes it could, but that should be on the poster, unless someone found the answer useful enough to translate it
though it seems slightly self explainatory ...
vlc.exe screen:// :screen-fps=30 :screen-caching=100 --sout '#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,vb=4096,acodec=mpga,ab=256,scale=1,width=1280,height=800‌}:standard{access=http, mux=ts, dst=192.168.0.1:8080}'
its taking screen as an input, setting fps to 30. I don't get what screen caching does but it can be looked up.
Its doing mp4v for video, mpga as audio at full scale, at 1280x800
the mysterious stuff is likely stuff you can look up on docs

> but it can be looked up

does this not break the rule of a self reliant answer? I digress.
Well - sure but It was good enough for OP. Editing to explaining it will be nice but the answer on its own works
