And the almost comical print quality... we've come a long way since then

lolololol

Did most of the setup for a brand-new Xerox VersaLink C405... the hardest part is moving it up the stairs into my bedroom, and that will come a bit later.
(like I said, I manage Xerox machines at work)
The machine was unboxed on the first floor and everything works as expected.
Excellent print quality, just like what I'm used to seeing at work.
All too familiar to me from work.

@bwDraco Hope you're ventilating a lot during and after use... All that ozone can't be good in the bedroom :x
also, holy crap... you have a fridge sized printer at home :D

btw, this might help moving that thing up: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stairclimber
Eh, it's fine. We have another laser printer in this house and it's never drawn complaints.
(mom has an old Brother mono laser)
@MiG It'll be near a window.

There might be longer term health effects, those are always difficult to directly attribute to a specific environmental factor, but they can still be there
@bwDraco That's good, but keep in mind that when the window is closed, from a ventilation point of view there is no difference with the adjacent wall
From Xerox documentation:
> This printer produces ozone during normal operation. The amount of ozone produced is dependent on copy volume. Ozone is heavier than air and is not produced in amounts large enough to harm anyone. Install the printer in a well-ventilated room.
I do have fans and stuff so it won't be an issue. The door will be kept open during long print jobs.

Well, they do sell the things so it makes sense they say that :)
Indoor air quality is not my field but part of my department, so I've been quickly poking at the literature... Looks like direct toxicity of your average home/home office laser printer is negligable (although it varies a lot between makes/models), but there might still be longer term effects
I'm guessing that if you open a window until the ozone smell is gone that would go a long way already though :)
12:00
My bedroom doubles as my home office.
Color machines do generate more ozone, though.

This thing is BW?
Color.
With Letter paper, prints at 36 ppm single-sided, 24 ppm double-sided.
Very fast.
MiG

Ah ok, was wondering who would buy that giant printer for BW only :)
There are plenty of folks with things like the M479fdw and I've never seen any major complaints.
MiG

How much does it weigh?
12:05
72 lb with cartridges installed
(not that the starter toner is that heavy)
Well, the paper trays and fuser do come out.
MiG

damn :x
Good luck dragging that one up several stairs :)
Two flights.

Does that guy still do these commercials or have they run out of stuff to blend? :)

An official, who has not been named, said: "The brigade commander was killed by his own troops and killed by his own troops, we believe, as a consequence of the scale of losses that have been taken by his brigade."

"We believe that he was killed by his own troops deliberately. We believe that he was run over by his own troops."
Morale must be getting REALLY low now :x
also hardly any progress over the past days, and the Ukrainians pushing them back in a few areas
After this kind of progres I would feel crushed.

badum tish :x
just staying true to my track record.

@MiG I commented elsewhere... He suffered from the agony of da feet
@MiG "getting"
;-P
Also apparently he got medivaced out by Chechens ..
@bertieb now now. The glorious special operation is going to plan
Pay no heed to the transports sunk by a country without a functional navy
This too was part of the plan.
And the Russian army us merely advancing backwards not getting their asses handed to them
The equipment being pulled away are Russian assistance to the farmers of Ukraine...
@MiG supposedly they got units shooting deserters
17:55
