apparently remove the sites you want to block but get changed back from windows defender's whitelist
(besides, hosts.txt is a pretty hamfisted way of blocking sites. Granted i DO do that with the MVPS list on a few systems, but primarily where I think there's a higher than usual risk of stupidity)
This is just because people don't want to read out the documentation of SOFAQ. I don't think that people will read it while SE has wrote down a good documentation for all network sites on their FAQ link.
While they have put the notification when you about to ask a question. And the same for a ne...
There are some arguments with a person and I want to clarify that I'm right or wrong at my PV
I downvoted - the screenshot you posted is a good example of BAD GUI. It is a GUI designed by programmers. If you want people to "do the right thing" then you make it easy, clear. You don't arrogantly assert that they simply RTFM. — skinnyTOD11 mins ago
I replied
@skinnyTOD I don't think its arrogantly forced the newbie to live with it, just you have need to make give attention on that. If you are not giving attention on that BIG heading How to Ask then I don't think the newbie will try to notify in the notification area which is much smaller than it. However old notification method was good to notify as that was appear on the top of the site like a popup. But though newbie has a good interface to use the SE sites as they have clearly wrote down a good documentation that which kind of questions you should ask there. — avirk7 mins ago
@soandos yeah I know as there are many PV regarding different users so its not bad to get downvote. I just wanted to know about that I'm right or wrong
This problem is related to my WD External HDD.
It has developed File System Errors. I found that out when I saw that the HDD is taking unusually long time to read the data and whenever I try to open a file or folder, explorer.exe crashes.
I checked the SMART status of the drive using GSMartContro...

I need to copy a program to an amiga floppy (Twin Express) but i cannot find a method how to copy it to an amiga disk, the target amiga is an amiga 1200 which has a workbench 3.0 system.
any program for PC i can format a compatible floppy ?
There are plenty of tools like parted and fdisk but all of them are not very user friendly. Something like Partition Magic but for CLI Linux? Something that automatically will adjust partition table, check FS, temporarily remove journaling (if needed) etc? In one command line :)
I know that each new tab on Google chrome have its own process, but I have 14 chrome.exe processes running actually as I can see it on the Task Manager, and only two tabs are opened on Google-Chrome.

I had the same problem as you so I decided to write web-mode.

It doesn't rely on any other mode. It does syntax highlight et indenting according to the code blo...
This guy deserves some attention. He actually improved his answer after I deleted it and mailed me about it.
You can read the details here: http://blog.chromium.org/2008/09/multi-process-architecture.html
Google Chrome takes advantage of these properties and puts web apps and plug-ins in separate processes from the browser itself. This means that a rendering engine crash in one web app won't affect...
11.1 Use Restriction
This product is not authorized for use in life supporting systems, aircraft navigation control systems, military systems and any other application where performance failure could be life-threatening or otherwise catastrophic.
Just found this in my monitor's specifications, wonder what monitors would cost that do allow this use.
11.9 Strong Light Exposure
The module shall not be exposed under strong light such as direct sunlight. Otherwise, display characteristics may be changed.
This one is less well known I think, especially with this weather.
This one's for the heavyweight division.
OK, this one's got me stumped. I just rebuilt my system after a new Power supply fired my CPU, MBD, Video card & a Blu-Ray drive. (Long, sad, VERY expensive story).
During all this I had to restore Windows from a backup (sector copy).
All seems well...
Today I was going to "System" with Win+Break and wrong pressed Win+Print Screen. By doing this, Windows 8 RTM x86 lowered the display brightness for 2 seconds and then returned to normal.
I checked that the printscreen was copied to clipboard by pasting it on Paint, but I didn't noticed any dif...
