@JourneymanGeek I suppose it would only be to stop someone from turning off the computer or logging out. If the mouse/keys are disabled and you open the task manager from Ctrl+Alt+Delete, the task manager shows up but you're back to being locked out. Mwa ha ha

They have some pretty cool optimizations and skip a lot of the BIOS stuff. But that means you can only get in by powering down and then powering up while holding the power button, otherwise it will try to start the boot process as quickly and directly as possible.

@OliverSalzburg yes. The other didn't get particularly nice reviews. It's true that it's a rather cheap piece of hw but I figured that I could try to ask here before simply getting one
@Francesco That's how I'd do it. My only gripe with it is that the power and USB source cables plug in on opposite sides and can pull out easily if you're not careful. But that just means you have to be careful. :) It works great.
Any ideas why total size of all files (including hidden & system) would be 50GB less than the reported occupied space? It's an external disk & system protection is turned off. The disk is part of a hardware RAID1 array - could it be 10% of space used for parity?

So I have this NTFS HD drive and when I select all the files and directories in it's root (including hidden and system files) the total Size on disk is 460 GB, but when I look on the disk properties it says that the used space is 464 GB. There must be something wrong...
P.S.: I run Win XP Pro SP...

@dnbrv Depends on how it's fragmented, I guess. But ya, it could. If the data is fragmented in such a way that while there are sections of free space, the amount of contiguous free space that would actually allow storing data, even piecemeal, is less.
if it wasn't win7 I'd get to tell you about how ext4 sets aside a percentage of space for root only so you can't completely fill your harddrive with garbage and end up accidentally making it unusable
