Well I can think of exactly one thing that would make me really happy that you would plausibly be working on, but then you told Sathya "it isn't what you think," so now it's suspenseful. Either way I look forward to being happy whenever it's done.
What's the current status?
Let's say this first: The Super User blog is a great idea, and we've had enormous success with it. We've had a lot of diverse contributions, inspired by our Question of the Week posts on Meta, and several regular writers. Even more so, Stack Exchange has launched a num...
Or it could be a community FAQ/canonical answers sort of thing. I've been hoping for built-in support for something like community FAQ's for a while now.
There's really all sorts of things that could make me happy
@RebeccaChernoff: Well, I supposed you would ask help for what you are doing so I though I would look for that help to get another hint at what you're doing... :(
I feel that it's more like learning JavaScript and then looking around their API, I didn't feel that it required much learning apart from that you have to prefer asynchronous over synchronous.
I prefer it when I need to write a small script or something, know JS well, it's blazing fast V8, it doesn't provide less than other things (Apart from graphics, but that's what a browser is for).
It's what I would want Python to be, I've regularly ran into things there that slowed the execution down and would require you to write C code in that place...
I think it's possible.
The idea is: divide and conquer(see below).
EDIT
Since some of you seem to think the question is too broad, I change my question as follows.
Can one write a good mathematical textbook on algebraic geometry without proofs?
The level and the coverage are almost the same as t...
random question: anyone trying win8 with a local account? searching online, I see results saying you can add accounts even with a local account, but I have no "accounts" item in the charms bar. thought someone here might have first-hand experience with it?
mail/calendar/etc just comes up with the "sign in with a microsoft account", clicking cancel closes the app, and the charms bar -> settings doesn't have anything useful.
It would be nice if instead of being just a Hotmail/Windows Live login, they could let you use any OAuth service. But of course Microsoft would never do that.
@nhinkle Ugh, I don't particularly like that... sort of forcing it onto us in a way to use LIVE... which, I loathe my hotmail account haha, its a mess now and I dont use it for anything
@nhinkle Amen for the geniuses at Google. Although perhaps once Windows 8 rolls around I'll move over to Linux... since Optimus support is now much better for my laptop
@nhinkle I'd like to hope that... I sort of think I will either stick to Windows 7 for a long time, or just move to Linux. The Linux part is mostly just because I want to try it.
the only thing stopping me from moving to Linux is 1. Optimus support is a bit of a pain. 2. I like the power management on Windows that keeps my battery from depreciating.
@RebeccaChernoff If you haven't found by tomorrow, I'll try it to see what it gives (Developer Preview, though). Need to install sound on that laptop anyway... :)
The two reasons i'm stuck with windows right now are MS Office (both due to UI and referencing) and VMware player (My school won't support virtualbox, or anything other than windows)
I like this so far. However, while looking at the Low quality posts section, I had issues with it. The only options to choose from are Looks good, Edit, Recommend deletion, and Not sure.
What does Recommend Deletion do? Does it make a flag or something? I wouldn't mind having the flagging option...
@RebeccaChernoff The question now is whether a MS account "activates" the ability to use the applications, without needing to have that MS account around.
MS account != live.com btw, you can have any e-mail as a MS account.
