I heard that MBR is a bit of a thing from DOS days, still supported by windows. So i'd think not really something unix/linux users woudl use

If I have a dd image of a partition, and I make a partition in gparted to copy that image to, then is it a mistake to have gparted format the partition I made, i.e. the to partition as NTFS, prior to copying the NTFS image over, or would it make no difference?

Everything's in miles, not many folks use km except in niche circumstances

Beer in pints I'll give you, but we're not attached to the measure, rather than the convenience, it's basically "I'll have an <amount> (or half <amount>) of beer"

Folks are pretty split on feet/m for height tho I guess, for measuring people

For measuring anything worth measuring, it's metric

Also, not sure how much of this I'm remembering correctly from 6th grade, but iirc alcohol is better if you need to measure low temps (because lower freezing point), mercury better for higher temps (higher boiling point)

Acer (6gb/1tb/amd a8 6410) with dual boot Win10 (geniune) and parrotsec.
Since last March, it started to turn off quickly while doing something. I can keep the lap on overnight in idle mode but if I started using it, it turns off. There's no particular timing and happens in both win and par.
Sometimes I can use it for 5-6 hours but sometimes it turns off within 30 minutes.
Once turned off, I can't turn it back on for next couple of minutes. Even if I try, it will turn of at boot screen.

Charger is always connected and the full charge capacity is 50% (it's a 3yo lap)

I can't feel the heat on it. I place it on my lap and the fans are working fine.

The weird thing is that it sometimes get heated but don't have any problem and most of the time it turns off, the temperature is normal.

I think it's a problem with battery but if I didn't used anything, it won't turn off even after 2 days.
