(if you're curious... it's this model: amazon.com/Anker-Charger-PowerPort-Certified-Foldable/dp/…)
...interesting. I have not this seen this model power bank before: amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Ultra-Small-10000mAh-Portable/dp/…
This power bank apparently uses LG's latest 21700 M50 cells.
(Anker names LG as the cell supplier for this product, so that leaves only one possibility)
I would want to think that Anker's cylindrical PowerCore 5000 uses this cell, too.
The magic of 21700 cells...
4C peak discharge for 10 seconds (the spec sheet actually says 80W), 1.5C continuous discharge.
Nominal specs: 3.63V, 5,000 mAh, 18.2 Wh.

So I got my electric razor in today... Gonna charge it and test it out

What model?
(as a refresher: I have a Philips Norelco Series 3000, model S3560)

Ah.

@Bob -.- Old, old bash quote... There is even a repo for all those scripts in various languages

@CanadianLuke yup, I came from there :P

Ahhh OK

Is there any concept of upgrading the total amperage allowed on standard 110-120V circuits in a North American household, or is the amperage deliberately limited to a certain value for safety reasons? We have a microwave and a space heater on the same circuit and it's extremely inconvenient to relocate them, and possibly a trip hazard / unsafe to plug the cord elsewhere or put an extension cord.
Basically the space heater draws 800W, and when you add the microwave's draw to that, it trips the circuit almost immediately

@allquixotic It would likely require replacing wiring in the wall.
(10 AWG copper or 8 AWG aluminum is required for a 30A circuit, possibly heavier gauge if the wiring is very long)
Actually, you're not supposed to have standard NEMA 5 outlets on a 25A or 30A circuit.

@allquixotic I think the latter

(because in the event of a fault, a 15A or 20A device could wind up drawing up to 30A; while the wiring in the wall can safely handle this current, the receptacle and plug aren't designed to, which can result in a fire at the receptacle or the device itself)

And it's lower than UK circuits

4:22 AM
The standard solution to the issue you have is to install a new circuit (preferably 20A) specifically for devices at the desired location.
(this may seem odd, but due to the way the wiring is set up in this house, Astaroth and related equipment are on a designated circuit)

To clarify, not NEMA 5-15R or NEMA 5-20R (the most common wall socket types; the latter has a T-shaped neutral slot and allows 20A).

@CanadianLuke a classic

5:01 AM
In other words, they designed a proprietary USB power controller that can negotiate with devices to deliver power at several different voltages as well as to enable maximum charging speed.

ubiquity ;p

8:49 AM
@Bob I've had an app that does all that since '13

Bob
The ones I've seen are generally (pick at least one):

* Expensive
* Filled with ads
* Buggy
* Unpolished

morning

@Bob ads can be removed.
Without paying, that is
You just have to be... Uh... lucky ;p

Bob
@rahuldottech Mate. I can use a polished app doesn't have ads, or I can mess around and break crap while doing questionably legal things.
Hint: I don't like questionably legal things.

@Bob yeah well, this app didn't exist, so...
OMG

THIS IS NOT A JOKE - I AM DEAD SERIOUS!

Hi perv,

The last time you visited a p0rnographic website with teens,
you downloaded and installed software I developed.

My program has turned on your camera and recorded
the process of your masturbation.

My software has also downloaded all your email contact lists
and a list of your friends on Facebook.

I have both the 'R.mp4' with your masturbation
as well as a file with all your contacts on my hard drive.

You are very perverted!

9:00 AM
oh i've been getting those for months

I have no idea how this email Id ended up in the hands of spammers, since I've never used it for a website login

i'm really interested to see the video they captured from my non-existant webcam

Maybe someone I previously communicated with had their address book compromised?

maybe

@Burgi what's hilarious is that there's an unsubscribe link in the headers
haveibeenpwned says I haven't been pwned

9:01 AM
I got that same email for the first time about six hours ago
They changed the Bitcoin address

Bob
@rahuldottech It exists now. Which is kinda the point, no?

@Bob mhm

Bob
Also I don't think the other ones (short of the >$100 enterprisey ones) do link analysis or device scanning. At least not the last time I checked.
Now if only they could add coverage mapping...

@Burgi I'm really interested in knowing what dodgy websites o visit

@JourneymanGeek stack exchange

@rahuldottech no password?

@JourneymanGeek hm?

Those mails often include a password. Useful way to work out if a service is compromised
@Burgi oh noes. My deep dark seekrit dbl lyfe !!!!11111eleventyone!!!!!!

@JourneymanGeek ah. Well, I've never used this email address for a login, so...

you were born after 2000 which means your brain is compatible with the internet and has been haxz0red

man only accepts one argument. woman on the other hand accepts 1-n arguments although the output might not be in the expected sequential order. It's important to not set man as an alias for woman or vice versa as it will lead to trouble. [ProTip] - Symlink the two together to spawn a detached child process. — David 6 mins ago

> The unique email addresses totalled 772,904,991.
Yikes, but what's really scary?
> There are 21,222,975 unique passwords.
Wait. what?

> this was after implementing a bunch of rules to do as much clean-up as I could including stripping out passwords that were still in hashed form, ignoring strings that contained control characters and those that were obviously fragments of SQL statements
attrition ;-P

Renew for ten years, you say

...
DOn't bother ,world is ending.
!! s/system/reality/

2:13 PM
@djsmiley2k That didn't make much sense. Use the !!/help command to learn more.

2:56 PM
@djsmiley2k I kinda feel there's a Sod's Law angle on this one tho
If I renew for 10 years, they'll probably call the whole thing off and it won't be an issue, rendering the long registration (and ££s) pointless
If I don't renew it for ten years, well... No Deal, WTO, GTFO

@djsmiley2k For me it's 15 leaks and that's just for my main email.

3:13 PM
I'm live right now - https://www.twitch.tv/nickkartha
hey, @djsmiley2k help me out. This is my first try.

A loooong time ago, we used to post an annual “State of the Stack” update on the company and community. Then at some point it became an infographic which was… listen, everyone was doing infographics in 2011. Now it’s 2019, the company has grown and changed in so many ways, so we’re bringing this tradition back and taking a look at how far we’ve come while being open and honest about how much work we have left to do.

2018 was a big year! Some stats:

Across all of Stack Overflow and the Stack Exchange network, we saw 9+ billion pageviews from 100+ million users over the course of the year. …

3:28 PM
Just wondering out loud... anyone use OVH for domain registration?
I'm happy enough to stay with NameCheap but if I am renewing for 10 years, going with OVH would save me a good chunk, like 33% even at their renewal - as opposed to new registration - price
If they're good with custom DNS / NS stuff I'd make the jump

Sorry @nick, I'm at work.
@bertieb I've never used them, but I'd be surprised if it was terrible.

@djsmiley2k My thought also... my threshold is pretty much if Bob/quix/FML say "aye they're alright" that'll be good enough for me :D
Or anyone else that uses OVH
At the moment all i use this domain for is email forwarding (I think... in my slightly younger days I was a bit Rahul-y with domains and have forgotten some of them ;-P) so it's not critical if it's a bit naff, but ten years is a long time and ya never know
I did naht forget to close the bathroom window, I did naht!... oh hi snow

4:00 PM
@bertieb I'm with namecheap. But their renewals can be pricy. I'm in the first year with almond all my domains, not looking forward to the next

@rahuldottech Damn you, autocucumber :P
I agree tho; their renewals are juuuust at the level where it's not worth my hassle switching
Except in this case because it's a multi-year thing
I guess if I somehow had all my renewals come around at once I might save money by bulk-transferring or something
If that's even possible
And playing two registrars off each other for renewal prices

4:17 PM
I used OVH, but onyl for random hosts.
none of the DNS stuff.
u got snow?!

@djsmiley2k Technically yes, but it's not lying or trying very hard

Anyone know what this discolored folder means? imgur.com/a/fjD3njG

The folder is set as hidden.

8:42 PM
@bwDraco ok, ty, but it turns out something else weird is going on - the folder and all subfolders are set to read-only and I cannot unset. Every time I unset, it switches back?!

Last call for Windows Phone 10 as Microsoft recommends switching to Android or iOS: cnbc.com/2019/01/18/…
End of support is December 10, 2019.
(EOL dates are always on Patch Tuesday, as that's when the final round of updates are released)

so hopeful for ome here.

@bertieb I have 3 ._.
