@Bob the technology doesn't exist for a low power enough cellular modem to do phone calls for more than a couple hours with the battery capacity that'll fit in a smart watch, and even things like SMS and frequent notifications over BTLE will drain it decently fast, so I'd never run mine to 10%

if I were only using it as a pedometer and a timepiece, then sure, but needing to be able to call/SMS and knowing how much that drains (regardless of what magic pixies the manufacturer puts in it) means I always keep mine at >= 50%

and the security at my workplace(s) is pretty lax except for the government facilities, but I don't spend 100% of my time at those

it's sort of a backup phone. which is also awesome in case I do something retarded, like walk out of my office without my badge to re-enter or my phone, and it's after hours and nobody else is there

I wouldn't have to walk half a mile down a dark road without a sidewalk to the gas station to find a pay phone or borrow someone's cellphone, I could just say "Hey Siri, call <whoever>"
