but both magnet links and torrent files are independent of the DHT
It's possible to specify trackers in a magnet link. And it's possible to have a torrent file without trackers in it (which will then default to looking up the file hash in the DHT).
IIRC the one thing that's usually different is a torrent file will have individual file hashes where a magnet link most often just has a single bundle hash. Can't quite remember though, it's been a few years since I last touched BT
@OliverSalzburg Looks like a backup program that tripped over a symlink

But as much as I like trains, and just travelling for the hell of it, the ability to get out of bed six hours later and arrive earlier is very very tempting....
@Bob perhaps i was mistaken..bittorrent is a protocol but it is just a generalized way of defining P2P sharing of files..the actual implementation of how files are shared and tracked are done through tracking server and its later replacement DHT..good thing is i didn't speak anything about bittorrent protocol in the seminar though my topic was similar
why there is no offline installer for microsoft visual studio 2017 commnity? They ruin experience of users..its online installer keeps on showing error downloading file after 25%
my installer says operation failed after some like 25% of download and starts all over again..such installers which don't save already downloaded data after failed download and restart again from 0% are the worst installer in this world
@Bob Really? You think a software company with the resources of Microsoft would find it hard to add a 'tar -czf' to the end of their automated build process?
you know i'm going to suggest microsoft if they can't face small burden to create an offline installer then atleast upload the zip archive so that users can use IDM to download it..much better than using their online installer which has no functionality at all to make it quick
end encryption lasts to third node and if every node uploads their key everything will become visible. About the path every packet will have a IP to which node it is going so i or NSA just has to look for its corresponding decryption key.

@jokerdino our client has partnered with a large UK government agency (hereby known as 4LA) to provide "services". given the nature of what the 4LA do i suggested that we need to do a pen test and move our client to a more stable and secure server and i was ignored
Nginx local server... Whenever I access any site of the form example.com it loads my nginx web page but any site example.com/page.html will serve my site but not use my style.css or background. Its just text. Why does it not load the entire site?
So I have this problem where I can access my local nginx site with www.site.localnet or even www.site.localnet/fake.html but www.site.localnet/fakepage/nonexistent.html will load my site but not the background and styling... I put base href ="/" in the header tag which made one directory down work e.g. x.com/file.html But I cant get it working for more
I tried using abs paths for the style sheet and background image file but that made it not load the site entirely everywhere instead of just not for the longer URLS
I posted it on Meta Stack Overflow as well, but in any case: there's a network-wide bug affected all sites' Help Centers. E.g. this link: https://meta.stackexchange.com/help/on-topic shows long-deleted Stack Overflow content only Google can find:
