@Rahul2001 my guess is no one wants anyone else to have that domain
@JourneymanGeek Why so?
Rather obvious reasons.
Why is there even a hiv domain?
.hiv is a generic top-level domain (gTLD) proposed by the Berlin-based nonprofit dotHIV and owned by Uniregistry as of September 2014. It is the first open charitable gTLD and its ICANN designation states that the domain's operator is precluded from making a profit. Funds raised from .hiv domain sales will initially benefit projects to increase access to HIV/AIDS treatment in Rwanda, South Africa, Turkey, and the United States. == History == The top-level domain (TLD) was inspired by an anti-HIV/AIDS campaign by thjnk, a German advertising agency. A group of co-founders, including charit...

@Bob Brazilian politics. You guys think I exaggerate. I do not.
The government built a bycicle bridge by the seaside. It collapsed in a couple months, because its project failed to take into consideration the waves crashing at it. When it collapsed, the bulk of an century's old structure showed up, mostly intact.
We don't need no ISIS, we destroy our stuff ourselves!
11:17
o.O
technically the waves broke it
cat
cat
@Burgi Yeah, I remember when that happened, took weeks (months?) for them to bring that line back into action
@Burgi Yeah, in your case it was a storm, not regular waves. The kind that happens 24/7. On the seaside.

There's a nice timelapse video of the repair there

that could never happen here, because by the time they approve everything with USGS , EPA, CalTrans, PETA , The Aclu , Road Workers Union, The insurance company, get fake bids for the job with 3X cost overruns. If they were building that close to the water, that location would not even exist by the time it got out of committee and the courts. Then adjenda 21 would ban it.

Evidently what they mean by electric connector, is any and all electronic connectors anywhere in the building. Because every fault somehow comes down to an "Electric connector" of some sort

isn't a SATA cable technically an electric connector too?
it uses electricity ...

Loose network jack? That's an electric connector. CPU melted? Electric connector inside the CPU broken, obvs.
@allquixotic Yup, that's exactly what I mean. Everything's an electric connector if you look at it a certain way

chongdiantou.com/wp/archives/1672.html its in chinese but someone cut apart a dash cable
> That confirms a few things. So, there is a transistor on the GND_Drain pin so I that is likely triggering the DASH functionality. The 46M-Ohm readings to GND (A01/A12/B01/B12) from there are probably the transistor gate leaks. That little 603 sized SMT resistor next to the transistor is likely a zero ohm.

On the USB-C side, the little resistor there looks to be the 56K to 5VDC PDC pin.
hmmmmmmm

@JourneymanGeek Ok, from the bit of reading I just did:

@Bob As in both at the same time? I've not actually tried
Bob
Bob
14:46
@cat no, for testing
looks like one just passes data pins through and the other implements some specific fast-charge standards itself?
so I assume the latter wouldn't work for QC...
cat
cat
Personally I plug the micro end into the tool, and a short (10cm) A=> Micro B into one of the two...
@Bob Nah, it's just a resistor across the data pins
Indicates a USB dedicated charging port
Bob
Bob
@cat mentions a CW3002D chip
@cat so I'd use the 'data' port for testing QC2.0?
cat
cat
Port 1 just has that, port 2 has the data pins passed through to the input connector. So you would need port 2 for QC, or port 1 if you want to deliberately block QC
Bob
Bob
ahhhhh
thanks
y u eating meat if veggie?
cat
cat
14:48
Also other reasons you might wanna block data such as my laptop's 1A port dropping to 200/500mA if a USB data connection is established (which is what the specs say it should do anyhow, but what if I just want charge and no data?)
I'm a bit concerned about the USB measurement tool itself overheating.
Jul 21 at 18:25, by bwDraco
No step-down regulation in the phone when using Dash Charge. The charger drives power straight into the battery.
Consider that Dash Charge/VOOC runs at up to 4A at battery voltage...
cat
cat
@Bob It miiight be all the smart charging "chips" communicate in some way with Apple devices and/or other devices that need some sort of "authentication". But none of my devices seem to care.

The OPPO VOOC (Voltage Open Loop Multi-step Constant-Current Charging) Flash Charging system is a rapid-charge technology created by OPPO Electronics, which, at present, is able to charge certain OPPO devices from 0 to 75% in just 30 minutes. At present, the OPPO Find 7(a), the OPPO R7, the OPPO R5(s), the OPPO N3, OPPO F1 plus, the OPPO R9 (Currently only available in Singapore), and the OPPO HA-2 are the only models that support VOOC capability. The VOOC Flash Charge circuit technology reportedly lowers the temperature of the charging adapter, and creates an interface from the adapter to the...

@cat OnePlus/OPPO's proprietary charging protocol. Instead of sending 5V to the device and stepping down inside the phone to battery voltage, it regulates voltage at the charger itself and charges the battery directly at very high current.
