Yeah, my guess was either the monkey knocked something out of place which caused a short (which would be bad design in the first place) or some safety system got tripped by the movement

On the one hand, the thought of carrying one charger while travelling instead of five is nice, on the minus side the thought of one charger failing and all your electronics being inoperable is a bit... scary

QC, less so, but I don't have any QC devices. And the brick OP3 would have a non standard quick charge system

S7 being the first phone that a) Didn't have a removeable battery and b) Actually charges twice as fast on QC than even the best 5V 2A chargers.

Pretty much all long-distance UK trains have sockets now, and commuter trains sometimes do in 1st class. Also electric commuter trains in Scotland have lots of electric sockets funny enough

And busses, well OK, I meant coaches/long distance busses. Local ones usually don't unless they're some form of premium service

It would drain faster, but the CPU+GPU thermal throttle kicks in after a few minutes, limiting your power consumption to about 1/2 what it would be otherwise

However, what I do know is water-cooling the phone allows it to run the CPU at max speed for a lot longer. So you can drain the battery faster.

In any case. Phone processors use tons more power than they used to, but batteries haven't kept up. Even though battery capacity has doubled.

In theory, at full pelt, the galaxy S7 can run from 100% battery to 0% battery in less than 1.5 hours. That's ignoring heat output for both the phone and the battery though.

You might even be able to drain it in 1 hour theoretically if you put everything on at the same time.

(CPU, GPU, LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, Camera, GPS, Speakers, sensors, etc.)

Same with laptops to be honest. Any modern laptop will last nowhere near it's average/quoted battery life if you turned everything onto max at the same time. Things with 10-hours of "normal" battery life will easily drain in less than 2 hours.

By default, power draw will be shifted away from the slot and towards the PEG connector. This will cause out-of-spec power draw at the PEG connector, but most PSUs are okay with this (as far as I know, most all PSUs don't really care if you pull 100W or more from the six-pin PEG connector, as long as you don't overload the +12V rail; voltage drop over that line is typically pretty low due to the combination of high voltage and heavy 20AWG wiring).
