Q: How to find who downloaded over 20gB of data on the network?

user416497Our ISP reported that our data allocation of 30gb had been 70% used on one day, 90% used by the next and then 100% used on the 3rd day. How do I find which computer or user on the network downloaded the data? I have checked 'User' folders, in particular downloads, for activity on the relevant d...

news: Radioshack, which was the only localised chain "components" store ,plus it became a lot of a cell store, plus other minor electronics. that had (chain) stores in many many cities, even 2 in some cities like my small city (which only needed 1) Liquidating 1700 stores, closing up to 2100.
While they eventually carried a lot of bad cheaply built (china) components that would easily break , it was a sure location for Minor DIY parts, where you could get something to fix or projects some minor stuff in the day, not waiting a week for it to come off the web.

6:41 AM
RS being a sort of WalMart of electronics , somewhat cheap and widely available, and tons of stores, had basically pushed out smaller ma and pa versions of such things Decades ago. Non-chain ma and pa electronics stores are not likely to make a comeback.

saif khanI understad your query you can also do that install keylogger on all system , you can use different websites to configure that setting example my3gb.com from that you can see the screenshot of every system at every your preferred time setting ....all d best

Best idea !

If by upvote, you mean obliterate.
I just repaired a pair of these sg.creative.com/p/headphones-headsets/chatmax-hs-720 that someone at work broke,

where's badp when you need him!

the USB-end got battered pretty badly, but otherwise, its functional once I soldered the 10 fiddly little cables someone managed to rip out despite the strain relief.

Q: What happen when we add two binary numbers that exceed the bit limit...?

AcayaPerform the following arithmetic operations assuming the microprocessor has only 8-bit registers. a. 11100012 + 100101112 b. 110010012 – 110111112

I am thinking this dude is a walking computer , one of them new ones with Base 2 Binary :-)
Undobtedly using the new MLC tripple stack transister processors
I mean who really is going to be talking in binary to the thing, to have such a question, then to completly miss the whole thing from the start, I was watching it to see if spam wasnt going to be edited in.

Q: How to pretend ip request

user3531469I have a 2Mbps broadband connection. My isp provides 2Mbps for all the websites, but provides 10Mbps for every Google owned service. I want to download a file, but make it seems like it's being downloaded via a Google service. This way I can get a 10Mbps download. How can I do it?

On the 2 questions of this type, i wonder about Caches, ISPs at one time or another had attempted caching locally the tons of similar and repeated requests for the same data. I wonder if they provide the "speed" on things they can cache locally with no problems, or via an agreement with google. Agreement meaning a system worked out where the cache is actually up-to-date and thereby transparent to the users.
vrses causing the users problems , which supposedly had happened the first time they tried caching local, where people were (again) trying to defeat the caching , to get to the "live" data.
It certianly is not any more "net nutreal" to change bandwidth to google (you tube) and netflix , any more than it is to restrict bandwidth to the same.

9:56 AM
Cache? (this is edited to the relevent info) I'm a network engineer with 25 years experience, . . . ., but from all reports they are more than fair in their dealings (including offers to put content caching boxes inside of consumer ISP networks, considerably reducing their bandwidth costs).

10:18 AM
When accusing netflix of having "fast lanes" there was responces like this "The Netflix fast lanes Pai referred to seem to be the "Open Connect" video storage and caching boxes that Netflix provides to ISPs. Although Netflix doesn't charge ISPs for this equipment, Netflix gets to reduce its costs if the ISPs host it within their own facilities" arstechnica.com/information-technology/2014/12/…
So the users went from complaining about being bandwith restricted, which could just be thier own crappy internal nets trying to do massive HD data. To users complaining that netflix gets more bandwidth. To netflix being able to provide locally more access. Via local caching systems.
Leaving the users to yet complain that the caching itself , breaks stuff :-)
It isnt that much different that a Cell phone service provider , allowing free calls (minutes) that start and end within it's own network. The free/extra bandwidth they are providing , these video data caches , has started in thier own network.

10:59 AM
Oh well they are saying that a CDN is not a cache. CDN=Content delivery network , which is a redirection to . . . stored content . (that is a cache of other stored content:-)
That also clears up a few other questions i was not understanding, about "Why are certian streams comming from the wrong places" & "why is my computer connecting or getting data from ___ when I was on ____" & "why does the DNS seem messed up and connecting me to here"
Because that data is being fed from a level 3 cache, or a ISP cache, depending also on what DNS you were using.

@JourneymanGeek Eh... might be one way to try Lollipop :P
Assuming Cyanogen support.

yup
don't forget, one major reason I got a moto G is lollipop support.
well no
vanilla, up to date android releases

Bob
@JourneymanGeek I'm not going to update my phone from 4.3 now.
Too much effort (i.e. Samsung doesn't like rooted phones)

@Bob: been rocking android 5, officially, a while ;p

Bob
Pretty much all I do on it is use FF anyway.

@JourneymanGeek Surprised that it's apparently a 2013 phone.
I wonder if they have anything more recent.
Also, it has an FM radio :P
Wish Samsung left that in...

@Bob so I sold my Galaxy S5 to a coworker who had an older Android smartphone (I don't remember which off the top of my head) and he got the official Verizon OTA of Lollipop this week, but my Note 4 is still out in the cold >:(
I'm so jealous...

5:46 PM
@DragonLord Are you here?

roar
I'm here

BGM
Hi! Okay, I have installed the SSD disk, and I'm trying to figure out how to get IRST configured.
If you would be so kind to assist me...

Where are you stuck?

BGM
I have the IRST control panel open, but I can't find any option to change anything.

Can you upload some screenshots?

BGM
5:47 PM
I have the help for it open, too, but it doesn't correspond.

Odd

BGM
There is supposed to be an option here to do something.

I thought RAID is active
For some reason, IRST RAID is no longer working.

BGM
I haven't changed anything in the BIOS.

Reboot to BIOS and tell me what mode it's in. AHCI or RAID?
I thought you told me you could create a volume earlier...

BGM
5:51 PM
"create a volume"? I thought so, too.
Is there a way to find out if it is AHCI or RAID without entering BIOS? I'd have to log off of here..
If I boot to BIOS, can I change something?

Jan 17 at 1:06, by DragonLord
To enable the RAID driver, in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStorA, set Start to 0x3 to disable the Intel RST AHCI driver; in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStorAV, delete the StartOverride key to enable the Intel RST Matrix RAID driver.

BGM
So I don't have to boot again?

Then reboot into BIOS immediately and set the system to RAID mode.

BGM
Will that disturb anything on my system?

No, I've done it before

BGM
5:54 PM
It would not be a good thing to have to rebuild anything.

Make sure you get the registry keys correct

BGM
0x3 is hex, right?
Right now it is $00000000

Yes.
Just replace that value with 0x00000003.

BGM
Do I need the dollar sign?

Can I see a screenshot? I haven't seen this before.

BGM
5:57 PM
Ah, it won't let me add an x.
Let me try a different registry editor...

Oh, okay. You're using third-party software.
Just enter 3 for a hex value.

BGM
ah. It took that. Wouldn't let my type x
but it took just 3
You also said: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStorAV
But that doesn't exist.

0x is just notation for a hexadecimal value.

BGM
did you mean: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaStorV

@BGM Yeah, use that if there is no A at the end.
The A variants are for newer versions of Windows.

BGM
6:01 PM
I have iaStorA, iaStoreF and iaStorV
oh - and iaStor

What are the Start values for iaStorA and iaStor?
0 means on, 3 means off.

BGM
In iaStorA, Start = 0 (except now I've changed it to 3)

There should be only one version of the driver running, and therefore only one should have a Start value of 0.

BGM
iaStorV Start = 3
iaStorF = 0
There is no StartOverride value in any key

Okay, then change iaStorV Start to 0. Leave iaStorF alone.

BGM
6:04 PM
So I'm changing iaStorA Start from 0 to 3, and iaStorV Start from 3 to 0.

That is correct.

BGM
And doing nothing to iaStorF

iaStorF is independent of this; it is a SCSI filter driver.
Yes.

BGM
And I can't delete StartOverride because it doesn't exist.

Just leave that alone.
Reboot to BIOS/UEFI and set the Intel RST mode to RAID.
Got a mobile device you can access chat on?

BGM
6:07 PM
@DragonLord Yes, I have a laptop I can use; but I have to leave to go to prayers in a moment (I am a Catholic Religous Brother....) and won't be able to come back here for about an hour and 45 minutes. Will you be around then?

Yes, I'll be around

BGM
Great. I'll reboot it when I get back and join the chat.
Thanks for your help.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is treating my Roccat Tyon as a joystick
This behavior is absolutely counter-intuitive

My mouse is not a joystick!
Must be the weird interface Roccat is using—the mouse is presenting itself to the computer as a joystick

BGM
7:41 PM
Hi, DragonLord
@DragonLord Okay, I am logged in here using my laptop.

Hello

BGM
I have UEFI open on my workstation.
It turns out that IRST was disabled.

Set it to RAID.

BGM
So I need to enable IRST then - so when I set it to enabled, it says, "No valid iFFS partition found" and says "Entry on S3 RTC Wake" is enabled.

Can you take a picture of this and upload it?

BGM
7:44 PM
with options for "Active Page Threshold support"
uh, hold on..

Is there a setting set to AHCI?

BGM
I can take a photo, but it won't be very nice

That's okay

BGM
I don't see any AHCI setting

Back out to the previous menu.
Rapid Start Technology is not Rapid Storage Technology.

BGM
7:47 PM
oh

Disable Rapid Start Technology.

BGM
In the previous menu, there is "Intel Rapid Start Technology", "Intel Smart Connect Technology" and "High Precision Timer"
Ah - I did find AHCI

Set that to RAID, then save and reboot.

BGM
It's in Advanced\SATA Configuration
choices were: IDE AHCI RAID
it was set to AHCI, so I'll change it to RAID
Is there anything else to do in UEFI?

Nothing else to do. You can just save the settings and reboot.
Let me know if the system boots up correctly.

BGM
7:51 PM
okay, saved. rebooting
it flashed the raid text first, now its booting to windows

@BGM That's normal, it's the Intel RST Option ROM

BGM
right; I was just giving report
I'm logging into Windows now.

Great, it worked.

BGM
This is pretty nerdy, I must say.
Then again, I do have B-Wings on my desktop...
Now it's loading all my stuff..
@DragonLord Do I need to partition the SSD drive in half before we configure it?

Open the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Control Panel and you should be able to set Smart Response Technology up.
It'll do the partitioning, if I'm not mistaken.
If you're stuck, post some screenshots and I'll help you.

BGM
7:55 PM
Windows says, "you must restart your computer to apply these changes..."
I don't remember seeing Windows Update, though.

Okay, reboot before continuing. It's probably the system setting itself up for RAID,

BGM
I hope this doesn't nuke everything.

No, probably just driver installation.

BGM
It's still finishing to login. I can see the IRST icon with a spinner.
Sorry. It's slow; I have to wait for Explorer to come to its senses before I can restart.
ugh. should I kill explorer?

I'd just hit Restart.

BGM
8:02 PM
It just woke up. I'm restarting now.
logging in again...
okay, so I click on the IRST icon and it says, "an unknown error occured while running this application" I think there is an IRST service not running.
It was set to "delayed start" and was not started. So I started it.
so it says, "Multiple users cannot run the application at the same time"

It'll start up by itself. Just give it a moment...

BGM
I don't think it's going to start. Everything is finished loading.
maybe those regkeys were not quite right?

No, the service has nothing to do with these keys
Try starting the IRST control panel again.

BGM
8:17 PM
It says, "Multiple users cannot run the application at the same time."
and
"An unknown error occurred while running this application..."
These messsages are from IRST.
Let me kill the system tray icon process.
same thing.

I'd reboot the machine again. I've never seen this issue before.

BGM
strange.
does it depend on something?
some other service?
okay, I'm going to reboot again.

BGM
8:34 PM
same problem.
hmmm.... guess I have go googling.

anyone knows what Advanced Async Doorbell is?

BGM
@DragonLord maybe I'm missing a raid driver?

Very, very odd.
I've never seen this happen before.

BGM
@DragonLord we disabled the ahci driver in reg iaStorA
by changing the value from 0 to 3
and we change iaStorV from 3 to 0
maybe that is something?

That should only change the driver.

BGM
8:46 PM
maybe I don't have the driver?
no - I see it. iaStorV is the driver in the drivers list.
so a value of 3 is supposed to disable the driver?
and 0 is supposed to enable the driver?

Yes, as far as I can tell.
The control panel is somehow borked. I'm not really sure what's going on here.
The service seems to be broken but I can't make sense out of this issue.

BGM
borked
the control panel won't start because the irst service is not running.
it's set to delayed start, but does not start.

Can you start the service manually?

BGM
yes

Okay, will the control panel open?

BGM
8:52 PM
control panel gives a message: "irst is trying to connect to the service"
and the service stops
every time a connection to the service is attempted, the service stops
so it probably did start with startup
control panel kills the service

Be careful—Windows has no fallback driver for RAID mode.
Do you have a recent restore point?

BGM
oh.
good idea.
so if this goes wrong, I'll have to boot to safe mode and do a system restore?

Do you have a recovery partition or recovery media?

BGM
no

Not sure if this will work...
I suggest bailing out of this.

BGM
9:05 PM
okay.

Reverse the registry changes, then go back to the UEFI and change the mode back to AHCI.

BGM
I'll do it.
At least I can move the pagefile.

From there, remove the old Intel RST driver, reboot, then install the new driver.

BGM
after I reverse everything?

Yes.
In AHCI mode, the system has a fallback driver to work with.

BGM
9:07 PM
So, in AHCI mode, remove the IRST driver and install the new one.

Yes.

BGM
you know what? in the raid flash screen on boot, it said that no volumes were configured.

@BGM That's normal
There are no RAID volumes.

BGM
okay.
so I reversed the registry changes
and the uefi setting is now back to ahci
This IRST stuff seem shaky and complicated.

Okay, reboot into Windows, uninstall the old driver, reboot, then install the new driver, and reboot again.

BGM
9:12 PM
Maybe I should just skip the IRST thing.
I'm becoming afraid.

I've got work to do—tell me if there's a critical issue.

BGM
Afraid of spending two days getting everything back into order.

I'm surprised IRST even did this to begin with.

BGM
Will uninstalling the ISRT driver cause any issue?

No, the system will drop to the MSAHCI driver.

BGM
9:14 PM
The links were to the up-to-date IRST driver for Windows 7.

Uninstall the old driver first. This will prevent upgrade glitches.

BGM
What I mean is, do you think my system will be okay with the new driver?
(Thanks for your patience, DragonLord)

I might just suggest reinstalling the same version of the driver.
13.2 caused problems on my machine.
Oy vey...
I'm very sorry this happened

BGM
When I go to uninstall, I see IRST twice.

This might be the cause of the problem.

BGM
9:18 PM
one for version 11 and the other for version 13
13.1

I think I understand what's going on here.

BGM
so I'll remove 11

Windows automatically installed the wrong driver version.
That's why the system asked you to reboot.

BGM
11 was installed on 6/18/2012

oh?

BGM
9:19 PM
13.1 was installed 7/26/2014

Okay, remove both versions of the driver.
Then reinstall 13.1.
This must have been a driver conflict.

BGM
Now, that's the IRST in control panel's remove programs list.
I guess that will work on the driver and not just the interface?
A conflict would make sense, since it complained of multiple users trying to use it.
and the interface would only crash the service.
If they mismatched, it would make sense.

That includes both if I understand it correctly.
A fresh copy of Intel RST should fix things.

BGM
Okay, I'll try it.

Once you're done reinstalling Intel RST, apply the registry changes again and switch to RAID mode.
Don't do this until you're finished reinstalling the driver.

BGM
9:23 PM
okay
you say to use version 13.1, right?

Yes.
Also, take a system restore point after reinstalling the driver and before changing the registry settings.

BGM
Funny, it won't remove version 11
The uninstaller runs, but disappears when I push "next"
I removed version 13 and am rebooting
After reboot, I can't remove version 11.
The uninstaller disappears after I run it.
@DragonLord I have geek uninstaller. I can force-remove version 11. It presents me with the registry keys. Should I remove them?
Just the ones for IRST relating to uninstall, that is
and the files left behind in program files folder
@DragonLord I just can't uninstall it.
unless I force-remove it.

9:54 PM
It's probably a stray entry.
I'm busy right now so I might need some time to respond

BGM
No, it's not stray; all the files exist and there is still the registry key.
No problem - I'll resume later, maybe.

Very odd
I really can't help much at this point
Maybe @allquixotic can help

nope, gotta go to store now :/

Keyword stuffing is considered to be an unethical search engine optimization (SEO) technique, which leads to banning a website from major search engines either temporarily or permanently. Keyword stuffing occurs when a web page is loaded with keywords in the meta tags or in content of a web page. The repetition of words in meta tags may explain why many search engines no longer use these tags. Keyword stuffing had been used in the past to obtain top search engine rankings and visibility for particular phrases. This method is completely outdated and adds no value to rankings today. In particular...
