o.O
that's actually a damn nice one
21:27
@Bob If it's nice one, why is it rated 3-stars?
@Bob meh, overpriced imo
@allquixotic If you pay more than $20 for a Windows 8 tablet, it's too much, IMO
@CanadianLuke uhh, the cheapest is $99
Exactly...
actually I don't know of any Windows 8 tablets
I only know of Windows 8.1 tablets

Q: Can I install windows & ubuntu on an intel xeon 1230 which doesn't have onboard graphics?

JasonI'm building a PC. I've bought an nvidia graphics card and need a CPU. I was thinking of an Intel Xeon 1230. This chip doesn't have on-board graphics. But will I be able to install Ubuntu & Windows using the CPU for graphics so I can get far enough to then install the nvidia drivers?

@Psycogeek So GIMP is still better than NET? Do you have battery testers? I like this one but not sure I really need it... amazon.com/ZTS-MINI-MBT-Multi-Battery-Tester-Battery/dp/…
This chip (the CPU) does not have on-board graphics and will I be able to use (the CPU) this chip for graphics?

@Boris_yo That is good, i think there is a non-mini version of it. while it it high rated by battery peoples, it is only cable of giving good guesses. like Ni-mh batts do not change much in voltage, even under a load WHICH (important) this tester type actually applies one, many other cheap testers are practically worthless. it also cannot tell how well the battery is doing in lifetime. having a testing charger $$$ can be overall more useful to know everything except guessing the exact capacity.
@Boris_yo you could say that is a lot of money to plop down, when it wont really prove the condition or state of the battery fully. money might be better spent for a testing charger thing .
Probably most useful to those without enough batteries charged, who will blow through a lot of throwaway batteries, and who do not properly keep a battery set as a team.
@Psycogeek I am sure you know these plastic garlic shredders.
I had one for $2 and it's teeth broke one after another. Yeah, teeth made of plastic and not metal. How smart.
With known good batts, like a robust LSD (low self discharge) , a spare set to charge, access to power, it is eaiser to just charge too often :-)
But this one is heavy duty, has 5-stars but yet is plastic??? amazon.com/NexTrend-Generation-Green-Garlic-Twist/dp/B0046C9URM/…
Cool Bud crushers :-)
why not get a metal garlic press like everyone else ? i thought you already had one in hand? a real chef would just use a knife :-)
@Psycogeek Russians use axe, Japanese use Katana.
23:01
Probably because a real chef knows that gimickey stuff takes longer to clean than just using a knife.
But i got one of them $$$ grater slicer things from my sister who was selling "pampered chef" and man that thing will juliann a whole thimb in seconds , and it stayed sharp, and cleans up
@Psycogeek MicroPlane zester and grater?
@Boris_yo prefer the maha over the lacross, each has advantages and disadvantages. the maha treat the battery better, the lacross cook it better, oh wait cooking not as good :-)
@Psycogeek Cooking and treating batteries?
23:06
@Boris_yo it is one of them slide the food through it washboard kinda things, for wopper choppering. I already melted part of it Plastic :-( to close to the stove.
I have Camelion charger and it charges 1 in each channel (total 4)
and what is wrong with it?
@Psycogeek It's dumb charger I think.
@Boris_yo not all dumb chargers are bad, although there are bad ones :-) and it also depends on how it is used.
@Psycogeek Would this one be better than circular heavy duty plastic garlic shredder?
23:09
if you know the pattern for what the charger is going to do, then you know how to do it, and about any charger can be used , with a smart user.
@Boris_yo what for? this is parmesean grater, and lemon zestor, how you gonna hold a galic clove on it?
check it out aliexpress.com/item/… $9 tablets :-) it's black china monday in russia
In russia computer only does what you tell it to do :-) by placing Icon sticker

Now if that only worked IRL.
@CanadianLuke Is gone!
23:17
@Psycogeek You said you had one grater. Is it sold on Amazon?
@Boris_yo I have the old school grater, and a galic press thing, but knife and rocking motion works bestest
@Psycogeek Old school grater?
Or just flatten it with a mallet :-)
amazon.com/… <-- grannys garlic press. but the one i got is a bit different, and they are just messy
