i have a laptop with one hdmi, one vga and one display port. I need to connect two monitors to this laptop and work in extended mode. Is it possible without any fancy adapters?

That's a really broad question
as it depends on the laptop and the monitors, and to a lesser extent the cables you have to hand
or as we say up here,
"Mibbes aye, mibbes naw"

12:20 PM
yup
mostly the laptop actually
the easiest way is well... to try

also depends on the GPU. some have an upper limit of pixels they can push out in extended mode

3:51 PM
And maximum number of total monitors

I need some advice around powerline alternatives. I have powerline adapters, but they constantly lose connection, despite being on the mains circuit. I assume this means the wiring is "suitable" and as such Powerlines are not an option for me? Is there anything I could do to fix the issues? (when I say powerline, I mean I'm connecting devices to the powerline via ethernetr)

@MyDaftQuestions do you live in an area with stable power supply? Is the electrical wiring in your house modern or are you running 1950s cabling?
do they lose connection when a high drain item is turned on? I'm thinking washing machine or cooker

6:17 PM
They react badly to motors
The old dryer would knock out homeplug when it would run

@Burgi, UK house, built around 1990... Doesn't seem to be due to washing machine/cooker etc as it happens when we're not using those items when the issue occurs. Some times, the issue could happen every few hours, some times days :/

7:21 PM
without plugging an oscilloscope into the power supply, i'm not sure it is going to be easy to troubleshoot
why did you go for powerline rather than normal wifi?

Q: What does the e3 or e4 printed on an IC mean?

user1307So after staring at a few ICs today, I was wondering what the "e3" or "e4" stands for on the top of an IC. For example, here is an e3:
