bwDraco Then there's the type of NAND. There's SLC, MLC, TLC, and QLC (from better to worse in terms of endurance and performance). (SLC is no longer commercially available, and MLC is very expensive.) Planar NAND is simply a flat layer of memory cells, 3D NAND uses newer manufacturing technology to stack many layers of memory cells, one on top of another, allowing higher performance, endurance, and density.
