@HornOKPlease erf... Other than the fact most non-obsolete 3V equipment usually runs fine off 5V there's no such thing as a 3V DC barrel plug, barrel plugs don't have defined voltages.

I looked up barrel jack to USB on Amazon and there are zillions of them... too big

So I plan to build this PC. I am going to duplicate my current installation, transfer it to an HDD, then clone that to an SSD. I believe I have seen several people use, MiniTool Partition Wizard Pro, to do something similar. I am going from a 1.5 TB worth of data to a 1 TB SSD. I plan on getting rid of 90% of the data, since I have a 2 TB SSD for that function :-)

I have Acronis but I am not entirely sure I can clone to a smaller drive :$

Perhaps i should check the manual :-)

During years of asking for changes to and/or mod tools for managing HNQs (e.g. during "Second Iteration of the Stack Exchange Quality Project" which ... just died), nothing happened. For Computer Science, the feature is, plainly spoken, crap, and we don't get any good traffic from it (afaict). Removal of the site from HNQs would have been an attractive option, even. So it's a wide-spread issue with my phone model, but the Oreo update made the camera focus non-existent. I got it working now in the default Camera app, but anything else that uses the camera (i.e. scanning barcodes) is still super blurry. Manufacturer says to backup my data and do a factory reset....

You won't get better than that for £110, but it'll still suck 200-400w of power, vs. 50-100w for a modern system with the same performance.

If electricity is cheap and you can stand the noise... go for it :-/

Also, another question. If I leave my laptops which run as servers on 24*7 for days will it cause more damage/wear to the components as compared to if I shut it down overnight or occasionally when they're not actively being used?

@rahuldottech Yeah, despite 8 years of most technology getting cheaper, RAM prices are still absurd. Getting 24GB of DDR4 alone will cost £150-200

Okay so it looks like I might actually get a refund because the last time I contacted Amazon, the dude slipped up and initiated a refund on a non-refundable item

And now when I called back and they're like "hurr it's not eligible" I told them how I wasn't informed about this earlier and that the dude had told me that the return would go through

Pro Tip: always contact Amazon customer care in the middle of the night. There's no waiting to reach a representative, they're in a much more helpful mood, and if the dude is half asleep like he was in my case, he might slip up and initiate a refund on a non-refundable item

The one time I had to call Blizzard to get my World of Warcraft account unhacked I had to wake up at 2.30am and use Skype to call their US only toll free number... Still took like 45 minutes to get through to someone.
