I have this lovely issue on Windows 10. My usb ports work like a charm until I unplug something. Whatever I plug into the now-empty port will not register, not even if it's the same thing I just unplugged. Does that sound familiar to anyone?
It's new, but I just re-installed Windows 10 two days ago. Affects USB ports 2.0 and 3.0 but I don't have any 1.0 (seems to affect every port). I'll check devmgr and the event viewer. I haven't checked for updated drivers, but I can
<headphones-chat> I got some Beats Solo3 Wireless because they are the only non-pods/non-IEMs that have the Apple W1 chip... the BT range and reliability and battery life is truly as good as they advertise, and a cut above anything anyone else has
pairing and switching between devices is also easier (with Apple devices) than other BT solutions, though the compatibility is apparently excellent, from testing them with a Windows box
and they aren't crazy Beats Overkill Bass-like, either; it's a nice close to linear mix
Zero clicks or pops or dropouts across the room, the mic is OK but not amazing... no noise canceling, but they don't need it, the passive noise canceling of wearing them is very good
and they don't hurt my ears like the Beoplay H9s do
probably the best pair of headphones Beats has manufactured to-date... build quality is slightly less durable-feeling than Beoplay or Sennheiser, but so far no signs of damage or breakage and I've put them in my bag several times

It errors because it found users in our AD that already exist in O365. Which is understandable, since we used a different O365 plan for years
So their entire migration setup can not handle existing users in the target
But they have other migration strategies available. Which you would also like to try obviously, but those are unable to even list all mailboxes available for migration. Leaving you unable to do anything
And their stupid support thought they would do me a favor by transferring my ticket to their German team, which probably just left the office
And it appears like MS just launched "O365 Germany". A separate instance of the entire setup. Making everything even more confusing

When I finished the reliscensing and initial O365 Premium setup, the first thing I did was to go to the Exchange Online Admin Center in O365, which gave me the 500 error I posted earlier. Then I tried to contact support and just got more server errors. At that point, it was clear that I should plan for complete rollback, not more migrations

@djsmiley2k I'm through all versions of that. Support just called me after I sent them an angry email earlier. They suggested to create a new global admin and remove the global admin role from my user account, then assign it back. Tried that, didn't resolve the issue
They'll call me back tomorrow
But I realized that what I want to do ultimately isn't possible anyway
The problem is that I would always end up with 2 mailboxes per user. Their migrated one and the new O365 one they got when I upgraded the license
I have to remove the license from the users and remove the auto-created mailboxes. Then remove any useage of our primary mail domains from our existing O365 accounts, as those cause conflicts for the migration tool
Then migrate, then have everyone copy their OneDrive over and whatnot and active Office under the new account
It'll probably work perfectly and take like 2h
And if I rename the domain first, the user names in O365 would be correct right after migration

So no, definitely a Windows update initiated restart
I'm not sure what it was but it involved tampering with the reboot application itself
But I can't find any modifications where I thought I made them so either Windows has undone them or I did something else. But it's still working on the server at least so I'm puzzled
@NotDog Windows Resource Protection may have rolled the change back - there's some Sysinternals tool that lets you verify the integrity of a file, so you can check with that if you feel strongly about it
