@WilliamHilsum: I don't think a masters degree means shit here unless you have common sense ;p

Is it wrong to laugh at that post? :/
just having a slow evening..

I think posts like that should most certannly be retained, so I dont make the same misteak.
How can you learn by other peoples failures (lets call them experiences) if we are not worthy of seeing them.

I'm vaguely horrified ;p

Is Stackoverflow now too big!? I remember when I could post a question any time of the day and get loads of answers in about 5 minutes... now been almost an hour for one and just over 30 mins for the other and barely even got any views :(
I would be interested to know on how many unanswered questions there are compared to members as time has gone on!

2:20 AM
one thing it is saturday, even SU gets ~1/3rd as many views on new questions when everyone is out partying and getting drunk, 3Day weekends probably average less.
Although there can be just as many people trying to get a computer working correctally, on thier day off, so number of questions does not experience the same drop.

Q: Part of the heatsink missing

NikolaI have AMD FX-4130 on AM3+ socket. I was cleaning my stock heatsink that came with my CPU and reapplied it and everything went good so far. Until I noticed a part that i dropped out of the heatsink that I didn't put back in. I should note that i also removed the fan and the clip that latches on ...

Got a couple of extra screws too :-) Something about having a screw loose, never really bothers me .
Trying to replace my older ear buds (not in-ear) I bought 3 sets of ~$20 ones at amazon, in hopes that one of them sounded as good as my older ones did. The "sony" ones , and the "phillips" ones (quotes because i dont know if they are just clones) both sound exactally like $3 generic china trash. The senheiser though were much better build, heavier parts, even heavier wire, and sound fine.
The 2 bad ones had every indication they were made (or cloned) in the same factory, right down to the way the bread tie wire wrap was done.
First time I bought ear buds, all 3 were fine.
2nd time i buy ear buds 2 of 3 were usable , the sonys were better.
this year only 1 in 3 are usable.
WTF am i going to do next year?
I feel like i should do something Now :-) before the era ends.

5:28 AM
lol
Ask @Bob? ;p
And that sounds around the same price range as the xiaomis and they're supposed to be decent

6:29 AM
@JourneymanGeek i was going to ask first. bob likes the in-ear? and JMG instead likes the ear bud things?

I prefer headphones

as in over-ear

xiaomis is in-ear , none of the in-ear works in my ears. they fall out to easily, and after more than 30min they start being an Earitation.

6:33 AM
I learned this new phrase after observing ears. There are more different ear types than vagina types :-)
It is no wonder why you cannot please all the people with one style or size . . . of dildo :-0

6:45 AM
At least i dont have That problem :-)

Do I need Lenovo's power management driver ?
An unknown ACPI interface shows up in other devices if I remove it

7:10 AM
@Psycogeek I had that experience with Meelec. The Pistons are comfortable, though.
They don't need to go in the ear canal so much as sit right at the entrance
Oh yea. Pretty much decided on logicalblueone.com.au/store/…, + 750 GB HDD + Win8.1Pro
Comes to $1,777. Not bad.

@Bob: Yay
is still saving up for the new monitor
which I may not end up getting, but meh

Bob
@JourneymanGeek I'd probably end up closer to $1,000 after discounts :P

@Bob: the RRP for that monitor is slightly over 800 dollars ;p

@Bob looks good, i got a question 13.3-inch QHD+ LED IPS GLOSSY BACKLIT (3200x1800) how do you see stuff in all the windows programs if they raise the res that high , on only a 13" screen, DPI does not work for everything? Although "doubling" a thing they did on ~5" tablets worked.

Bob
@Psycogeek DPI works for enough... but, yea, I wasn't too sure about the QHD either
I can always run it at a lower res if necessary. 1600x900 isn't too bad, especially on such a small screen

Some of these programs, they should have made the ^#%$@$ text sizable even for 1080 on a 24"

Bob
better than the common 1366x768 anyway

@Bob yea perfect 4pixels per resolutions

@Bob both my laptops are that :p

7:58 AM
big advantage in super high res displays even run at smaller resolutions, the cell walls for the pixels are thinner, soo no seeing squares.

8:10 AM
o0
Apparently laptop memories come in 2 different voltages

Bob
@Psycogeek provided you run them at an even division, of course

1.5v and 1.35v

Bob
on a 3200x1800 native, 1600x900 and 800x450 would look alright

I'm not sure if my laptop can run 1.5V RAM

Bob
other divisions? nope

8:11 AM
The current one I have is 1.35 v
Which is apparently DDR3L o0
Can DDR3L mobos run DDR3 RAMs ?

Iirc no
You can go the other way sometimes tho

Apparently Haswell ULVs need DDR3L rams

I am pretty sure my desktop has low voltage ram

8:28 AM
Hmm crucial says I can get it crucial.com/usa/en/ideapad-z570/CT2293341

hmm
Maybe its not a system that needs low voltage but they used it anyway?

8:58 AM
I ordered a DDR3L just to be safe

Q: Why does my server play an E minor arpeggio through the PC speaker every five minutes?

Cosmic FlameI'm running Windows Server 2003. When I log on to the server using Remote Desktop (from Windows XP) it plays an E minor triad - long E, G B G E - through the PC speaker. We've tried setting Remote Desktop to leave remote sound at the remote computer and do not play remote sound but the sound s...

o.O
on one hand, it's HP (and therefore I'm somewhat doubtful of its build quality)
looks a bit like a MBA clone too
on the other, it's decently priced for a convertible and has a proper keyboard... beats out the SP3 there

A: Windows are acting as if they are "always on top"

BernardVYay! I found my culprit: HScrollFun.exe (also named HScroll Application). It's part of the "ThinkPad Compact Keyboard with TrackPoint driver". With my Lenovo keyboard's trackpoint, as soon as I scroll any page vertically or horizontally (by holding the center button), my windows start to have th...

@Bob: do as I do, wait for reviews ;p

Bob
@JourneymanGeek eh... too late anyway :P
and it's hard for early reviews to capture failure rate
