Well, that sucked

I was on my way to visit the family, a good 400 km away

After like 140 km I realized that I left the present at home O__o

And now I'm back home

Remember the Kreyos Meteor? The crowdsourced smartwatch product that ended up epically failing?

I actually bought one (before it bombed) and since they went bust, they open sourced the firmware and app code. So I'm gonna try hacking it myself.

I don't think a lot of people realized what kind of opportunity that is. The hardware is decent (though the buttons apparently fail easily on a lot of them?) so it's really just the firmware and apps that were lacking.

Honestly, it could turn into a cool community hacking project. It'd be a neat way to teach embedded programming, too.

I wonder if something like this will take off over time, even if it's not this. If someone else started up an open sourced smartwatch
