For those interested, please help merge editing into more specific tags like text-editing video-editing and so on...

Current tags exist of: text-editing, video-editing, image-editing, sound-editing, photo-editing, graphics-editing

As I've been busy doing tag edits for a whole hour on tags like graphics, card, program, programs, game, games and some smaller tags I'm pausing for now...

Seems that on the lines of the useless program(s) tag, the application and applications tag also need to be checked and pruned, some questions there simply fit in software-rec while others just don't need the tag as it adds nothing...

Q: Why does my Laptop sometimes disconnect from the Router?

I remember when Vista came out, it did change a few things in the networking stack and a lot of hardware failed on DHCP... your one is before Vista and it could be the same thing - but, I can't say for sure as I haven't followed it up / don't remember what actually changed to break it in the first place

@SimonSheehan I have written so much about it, and people have said all sorts to be about defending MS... in all honesty, they deserve nothing over their relationship with Intel... saying machines were Vista ready when they could barely run it... but... aside from that, it was the fault of crappy PC vendors selling sub standard hardware.

@WilliamHilsum It is really easy to blame MS, but it is the vendors at fault more than anything. They had ample time to prepare it.

@SimonSheehan Agreed... That video is silly... he may have a new machine, but he shouldn't of got 2 year old crap parts! I like how he doesn't actually show or mention anything.... I sold probably close to 300 machines when Vista was out... I keep return statistics... had a few faulty power units, 3 bad boards, 5 failed hard drives... and only problem which was just vista was a few people complaining about sidebar freezing.... it worked great!

@WilliamHilsum I watched a LOT of kids trying to run vista on 512MB of RAM though, i think MS didn't really expect it to use as much resources as it did. That was my only issue. I was on XP until i got my new machine :)

I've had this thing play 4GB Blu-ray movies before

That means a DVD isn't even "HD-Ready"

Given that Blu-Ray disks use a better codec than video DVDs and offer much more space, the video quality is just much better. Like, a lot better.

Blu-ray disks with games are WONDERFUL. Packs 30GB of Data into Metal Gear Solid 4, makes for a beautiful game :)
