@Nathaniel I feel like there's some kind of logical/psychological bias coloring this statement. I.e. if you are not being nice, then people telling you that you're not being nice could quite easily seem rude to you.

I guess the sense I'm getting is that you're implicitly saying that people who speak up about injustices and problems with conduct are often/always going about it in an offensive manner.

I don't have a problem with TRiG raising a stink about people in positions of privilege being insensitive to the plight of people who do get abused for this or that. I have a problem with TRiG saying that Peter is "one of the worst people...to moderate sensitive discussions". Regardless of factual truth, that's still a pretty rude statement. Especially to Peter's face.

Maybe what I'm trying to say is: try not to conflate the validity/quality of beliefs with the conduct of people who espouse them.

......but everyone should be aware that tone heavily colors content. Let's try to be civil and respectful here, and criticize ideas/actions and not people, please? :)
