Is it possible to let several users work on the same post? Or is the best solution for collaborative editing to use some other service then copy to WordPress when it's finished?

Hi @GraceNote, do you know how collaborative editing is handled on the SE blogs at the moment? I think we'll have a good number of co-authored posts. Would it be feasible to install one of the WordPress plugins that makes this possible (showing co-authors on published posts and giving co-authors edit rights), or do you recommend we find a different tool than WordPress to work on posts together, and use WordPress only for publishing?

@Szabolcs Some people re-use Google Docs for that, and just link to that document from Trello.
13:49
@TomWijsman You use Trello to organize writing for the SU blog? Someone did suggest that.
14:06
@Szabolcs: Activity for the SU blog kinda died, but yes, we are using Trello there.
14:32
@Szabolcs We have tried a couple of things. Trying to edit in Wordpress itself is a PITA, so we've used LibreOffice (just email, DropBox, or Google Drive drafts around), and we're trying Google Docs for one now. But we ultimately have one author (even when the editors are making a lot of suggestions).
Thanks for the answers!
Do you know if prettify is available for the blog (for code blocks)?
Not sure, haven't had any code blocks on a Cooking (unsurprisingly)
but its just a javascript file, so if its not, the SE team should be able to add it easily.
14:59
@Szabolcs Not personally, no
Oh, if you mean for making more than one author per post, is that the intent?
I think we had an answer on that, not one you'll like, eheh, but I'll double-check
@GraceNote Yes, that would be the intent.
@GraceNote as @Szabolcs asked if prettify was available, it appears there's a wordpress plug-in for it. Would that be available for use?
Thanks.
15:16
@rcollyer Oh, you mean syntax highlighting? I can just turn that on
@rcollyer I've activated syntax highlighting. Shouldn't be long for it to take into effect. If its abilities are insufficient, let me know.
15:43
@GraceNote Thanks. Does it function like prettify does on SE? In other words, do I have to specify the language?
I think so
Hmm, not highlighting, yet. Will keep trying. On the other hand, wordpress is escaping << and then displaying << inside the code-block. So, have to work out how to get around that.
16:06
@GraceNote It's this plugin, and it doesn't seem to have an official Mathematica highlighter (alexgorbatchev.com/SyntaxHighlighter)
I'll look around to see if there's an unofficial one, but I doubt it.
The best solution would be to use a prettify-based highlighter, as one Mathematica.SE user has already made a Mathematica extension for prettify (the one that;s being used on Mma.SE)
I'm sorry, there does seem to be an unofficial Mma highlighter for this particular plugin: undermyhat.org/blog/2009/09/list-of-brushes-syntaxhighligher

Alright, I shall look into getting this working.
It may take some time, though
17:38
hello, I want to go to the main room for stackexchange, can someone guide me?

@AlUmmat I think you want to start with chat.stackexchange.com
@derobert thank you

So it appears some random web site called hackaday has linked to the Cooking.SE blog. That's a lot of traffic....
