@SmokeDetector Google translation: "How to design a site - Is it difficult or simple to design a site in Shiraz?"

@SmokeDetector Based on the Google translation, I could see this one being either spam or an off-topic question. I'm leaning towards spam, but I'd want a native speaker to give a better feel for which it might be.

the fact that the domain already has two hits and that the link is completely gratuitous - and inexplicable if the author didn't know the answer - says spam to me

I'm definitely leaning towards spam. The two posts feel like poor spam attempts, but could also be the result of a confused user. But, I do consider spam to be more likely.

Hi
How do you do regex for the opposite of something?
if I have http://www.example.com, I can catch that with http:\/\/....example.com

Recovered from BrokenPipeError: [Errno 32] Broken pipe

but that still is positive for something like https://web.archive.org/12345/http://example.com
or actually how can I match any non-letter character except for a specific one (/)?
that'd work well
I know \W is not word, how can I say anything that matches that but doesn't match "/"?
Oh [^/]

@Stormblessed You could use [^\w/], which matches everything that's not a word character or a /. Note: both the Unicode and non-Unicode based \w includes _. SmokeDetector uses Unicode based versions of character classes in most places, so \w is significantly expanded beyond its ASCII based definition of [A-Za-z0-9_].

6:41 PM
@Stormblessed If you're wanting the opposite of a single character, then, as you've already discovered, you can use inverted character sets: [^your characters]. If you're wanting to not match a specific string of characters, it's usually easiest to do that with negative look-arounds: (?!negative look-ahead) and (?<!negative look-behind).
I should probably note that many regular expression versions don't support negative lookbehinds (positive and negative), or at least not variable-length look-behinds. However, the regex package which SmokeDetector has good support for look-behinds, even supporting variable-length look-behinds.

[ SmokeDetector ] SmokeDetector started at rev 6af88ec (Makyen: add connectyourcharger to SD privileges in CHQ -autopull) (running on iBug/SandyShores, Python 3.7.4)
Restart: API quota is 14167.

@connectyourcharger I've added you to the privilege list for SD. You should run the !!/amiprivileged command to verify. It would be a good idea to read through the Feedback Guidance, SmokeDetector wiki, and SmokeDetector commands (in particular feedback).
You may also want to look at the userscripts we have available (GitHub), as they can be quite helpful, depending on how you want to participate. For viewing, feedback & flagging in chat, I find FIRE and AIM to be the ones I use the most.
Just so you know, we normally tell people when they are getting privileges that we practice the "ton of bricks" discipline method here: If you mess-up sufficiently, or consistently, we come down like a ton of bricks :-).
To quote ArtOfCode: TL;DR: ton-of-bricks is mostly to say that we almost never need to enforce things because things enforce themselves through having a good community here. If it gets to the point that someone's enforcing something, something's gone badly wrong.
