12:35 AM
@HyperNeutrino Any idea who initiated it? Any specific CM?
It'd be nice to have the old SE account ID, I'd like to pursue this and figure out what the heck happened
because either I've got it wrong or someone on staff has got it wrong, and either one needs to be fixed.

Smokey has chat ids if that's helpful

ah, that'd work

You're too fast :)
chat IDs don't correspond with network IDs, but I can figure it out. Thanks.

There's something a little weird tho
More info from here - PPCG transcript
My suspicions were wrong though - forgetting that "today" in UTC is now "yesterday"

12:48 AM
@HyperNeutrino Here's the scoop: (1) We don't intentionally enforce underage deletion retroactively, and (2) let the contact-us form go through; link to chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/38259280#38259280 and this transcript to give some context if they need it
and maybe mention me in there so they don't wonder where the TL link came from.

Ah is that room mod only? Was about to tell you it didn't work :P

yeah

J F
Is the deletion undoable?

Hey while you're around Undo, remember that mod flag you asked me to do? I ended up putting @ Undo at the start by mistake, not expecting you to handle it though!

Hah

12:52 AM
I just copied the message I sent you in here
Hope it hasn't caused any problems :/

nah
There are 300+ other flags right now and it'd be hard to even find it if you knew what you were looking for. Your flag is by no means the weirdest one we've got.
@JF not current on the status of that, but last I knew underage deletions are 'special', in the 'scorched earth' sense. COPPA laws are nasty. Post/vote reassoc may be possible? Don't really know.

You saying my flag is weird? :P

I haven't even read it

Glad I'm not a mod though, take my hat off to you guys

@tripleee Sure; a good example is converting binary data to a string. In Python, if my Googling is correct, it's data.decode("utf-8"), while in Swift, it would be String(data: data, encoding: .utf8)

That's not a huge difference, but IMO it's easier to tell what the Swift version is doing (and it's more type-safe -- .utf8 is an enum instead of a string, and can be checked at compile time.)
