Not entirely unexpected, no, but still more than I expected

Does your ISP charge per byte (or are you tethered to mobile perhaps)?

@quartata no, unlimited
it's not an issue, I'm just amused at how much that uses

then we'd need to watch for comment replies to Smokey's comment but I guess that should not be too hard ...?

@angussidney though many close voters don't leave a comment, and those who already close voted won't see a comment posted after the fact, most of the time

@tripleee usually they say 'I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it's spam', rather than using a pre-defined reason

@angussidney yeah but very often you only see "close (1)" with no comment and then it's basically impossible to reach the person who did that
and the "don't close vote" is actually secondary in my FR -- I am basically proposing this as a visibility and usability tweak
"we know about this already, don't panic (but here's what you can do)"
I remember getting upset the first few times I saw spam on SO
the very quick typical deletion time helps against that now, too, but still I think it would be useful to say that it's being handled

Is it possible for me to break my autoflagging setup? I changed some values (to make it flag more stuff than normal) and since then (5 days ago) it hasn't flagged a single post for me.

My settings are:
Min weight: 250
Max Poster Rep: 15
Minimum Reason Count: 1

9:18 AM
Max flags: 7
Used: 0

@Henders We've changed some things.

Ah fair enough :)
I was worried I'd broken it!

Now, two out of three autoflaggers are from the Charcoal team, and the other is randomly chosen from a pool of ~150 people. Soo...

Got it, thanks!

That change is about 3 weeks old
(See the spike here, ~march 5th)

9:22 AM
@Cerbrus That’s a step, not a spike.

@Cerbrus what was the motivation for that change?

@Cerbrus Interesting, mine looks like this

I think metasmoke is broken on mobile.

Usually is

It always shows the status as red.

@Henders I'll look into it, but I suspect Mithrandir is right that it's just the random selection.

@ArtOfCode Yup

@Wrzlprmft Semantics ;-)
@tripleee I don't know the exact reasoning, but it has to do with core members not getting any autoflags used at all any more

@Cerbrus … is very important if you want people to understand you.

Art can tell you more

@ArtOfCode It's not a problem, I just wanted to ensure I hadn't edited my settings in such a way that I would never get another flag :P

As to why we did it, it was because we felt that people who are putting something into the system (code, feedback, whatever) should get more out of it.
The bar's not set very high, it's just something so that it's not a free for all

I got 5 today

we had a discussion about climate change in my politics class today in vocational school
and 3 of my classmates are climate science deniers :(

sigh

And almost everyone else is completly indifferent to it
the 3 deniers were even arguing to allow thermal fracking in the area, even if it ends up polluting some cities' water sources because "the profits will be worth it"

that's crazy talk
just saw an ad for Earth Day where they said if we all die, there will obviously be no jobs

@Magisch I guess you can't argue with people that are not looking to solve problems by reason.
Climate change is one of the topics that has been challenged so many times, if it had a single flaw, it would've been debunked for long.

@M.A.R. They do use reason. It just betrays lack of empathy
"It's not my water / I make enough to move to a different area, but more profit means we can lower taxes so I have more money for myself"

Only 5 for me today
"Then they can just buy water at the shop"
