shush no there isn't

Uh?? I see only FP

Where'd that come from?

smokey go home you're drunk

me invalidating two feedbacks on the post, so that got broadcast after the first

Dammit, FDSC didn't load.
It always seem to do that the first time I flag something after opening Coal.
anyways still needs flags

sd f
I guess

That was just weird.

exactly

We need "sd weird"

12:34 AM
I don't think we do. Sure, it's weird, but it's on-topic for the site and likely a legitimate question. However weird it is, we don't need Smokey catching it.

That was a joke.

I figured it might have been :)

It would be nice if the false positive button on FDSC was a little more obvious.
Like, one of the flag options rather than just a little link.

Yeah, that would work too.

12:39 AM
could it be moved up a bit so it lines up?

that was quite literally a 10 second mockup, anything we actually do would be better :P

I was thinking something more like there being another option above spam
It would have to be a different color so that you'd know it was FDSC obviously

restyling what's there would be far easier :P

Oh I know. I want to make you suffer exquisitely

@SmokeDetector Let's not nuke that ourselves

@Undo Why?

@quartata LEA requires a min length, IIRC

@Undo Oh, OK.

@quartata I'm throwing a custom flag on it, probably better have mods there check out the information they have.

1:48 AM
@quartata No, you are not a privileged user. Please see the privileges wiki page for information on what privileges are and what is expected of privileged users.

Oh that's why.
Still don't get the difference between MS reviewer and chat privileges

MS reviewer gives you the ability to pass FDSC review data in and use the review tab on MS
chat privs. gives you additional privs such as for blacklisting, etc.

No I get that. I mean in level of trust more. Although I suppose blacklisting with pull request is the big difference

@quartata heh. There's no reason Smokey can't delete PRs unilaterally...

@SmokeDetector lol

@Undo Except that we don't do so :P

1:51 AM
@ThomasWard Well blacklist without review needs code privileges

for the !!/blacklist-* commands? Oh yes it does, on MS and I think on Smokey

@quartata man, I had this really awesome US Robotics 56k modem, nice expensive one back in the day, that I lent to a guy who still used dial up. Then he upgraded to Comcast and the install tech threw it away :(
@ThomasWard faaaaancy :D

@Seth you know your 32px avatar is broken?

@ArtOfCode yeah. blame gravatar.

Oh, I usually do

Not broken for me

2:03 AM
@Seth that may be the greatest tragedy of our lifetimes
@Seth Cloudbleed is so 13 hours ago. Get with the times.
We're all over that SHA-1 collision now

I was sleeping then :P

@Seth Well, you shouldn't be using SHA-1 anymore. This is just the frying pan for those who weren't listening

2:05 AM
@quartata true.

So when you take that part out of it it's pretty cool

110 GPU years sounds like a long time, still
But yes

I dunno
in Ask Ubuntu General Room, 7 hours ago, by Nathan Osman
The Bitcoin network performs that many hashes every 1.5 seconds.
but I didn't verify that. Nathan usually knows his stuff though.

That would mean the BC network has the equivalent of 2,312,640,000 GPUs. I know it's big, but that sounds about an order of magnitude or two too big.

I've opted in to the auto-flagging thing, and I'm trying to figure out the "conditions" page, but I have no idea what the numbers mean. Can anyone help?

2:17 AM
Sure.
So the way autoflagging works is that every post gets a reason weight
This weight is equivalent to the sum of (true positives)/total * 100 for each reason the post was reported
So the first number is the minimum weight - i.e what the lowest weight you're comfortable with flagging is
The second is the maximum amount of rep the poster of the reported post can have for you to autoflag it
Obviously this should be something fairly low like 1 or 11 on the off chance a high-rep user posts something that ends up getting reported for some reason
And the last one is just the minimum number of reasons the post can have to get flagged by you
For reference mine's minimum weight 210 maximum poster rep 11 minimum reason count 3. The reason count is kind of arbitrary in this case since to have a weight > 200 it'd have to have three reasons anyways.
@Mr.Bultitude Does that help?

Minimum weight is a bit opaque if you aren't too familiar with the rest of the system. I can explain it in more detail if you like, but we recommend using 280 in that field because it results in around 99.99% accuracy.

Yeah, the wizard's default values are good.
I think the wizard shows the accuracy too right

aye

@Undo how did you derp Git anyways
just curious

FDSC isn't giving me the fp link.....
what the hell
does it not let you do fp- on something that already has tpu- feedback

That's because we've got rid of false positives; there's no more need to report them as they simply do not exist.

or maybe it's just because fdsc hates me and never works the way it should

@quartata this

literally about to do an API request just to do this here

@ThomasWard Tried to merge a PR from GitHub Desktop. Don't do that

@Undo yeah GH Desktop does a lot of evil
@Undo I'd use the GH web merge button lol
it works better xD

@ArtOfCode wait, how would you do that?

3:05 AM
and doesn't force me to hard-fix the tree with git evil

@Undo Using your new found stash of API tokens
You can't really do a lot against 85 spam flags

But only I should be able to do that, hopefully
Single point of blame and all that

@Undo any chance I could get a second MS key code for Smokey so I can spin a secondary standby instance? or would that fail because of MS key binds to user accounts?
just curious

@ThomasWard That'd be possible, yeah

cool, can you or Art gen a code and encrypt it to me?
since my stuff is on Keybase and what not :P

3:07 AM
... the time may have just increased from one minute to multiple

@Undo pretend I'm Smokey, and send a forged post to metasmoke. Give it enough reason names to give it >500 weight, make the link point at my target, and bang. Oh, and raise max flags to 6.

But I've been wanting to try that anyway, so okay
@ArtOfCode Two points in the code will refuse to send more than three flags

waits for MS to explode

(1) is that hardcoded '3', (2) is the max_flags_per_post on the Site model

@Undo we have a hardcoded 3?

3:09 AM
Oh, maybe not. Just a default of 3
Still, you'll have a hard time updating (2)

Aye, though we did intend to put in a UI for that

that'd probably be a good idea, but it'd be nice to have a hard maximum somewhere

I need to write a meta post asking for the spam definition and description to be changed. Just because it is disclosed doesn't mean it's not spam. That loop hole can be exploited.
> I have a product that can help you! Grow bigger heads! Use it today!

there is another possible attack vector, but I'm not gonna spread it around until it's fixed.
(have fun)

@Undo Not sure we need one. Default 3 is good, but otherwise we can just pull from flag settings. I suspect we'd hear about it quite quickly if someone decided to go rogue and put it at 6.

3:11 AM
@ArtOfCode Probably, but it'd be nice to just reject any attempt to do that
I mean, if we're intentionally doing that we can probably afford a deploy

true
@Undo wait... I might have it, though I don't know if it's the one you're thinking

ok I'll go somewhere I'm not invisisble

especially given that we recompile everytime a blacklist is changed.

@YvetteColomb not invisible ;)
I just don't have much of an opinion around that. Haven't had time to form one.
