@Mithrandir That question wasn't spam, just a bad question.
How do you unblacklist a user?

@QPaysTaxes I'm SmokeDetector, a bot that detects spam and offensive posts on the network and posts alerts to chat. A command list is available here.
@QPaysTaxes Invalid format. Valid format: !!/rmwlu profileurl or !!/rmwlu userid sitename.

Horribly discussiony and closeworthy, but not spam.
Especially given their second question, it seems to be just an inexperienced user.

@Randal'Thor User is not blacklisted.

Does editing work?
Good.
Let's !!/rmblu in the !!/jnglu
Can't stop thinking that every time I see the !!/rmblu command.
Eh, same word :-)

@Randal'Thor was deleted as spam/rude/abusive

@Randal'Thor 2 minutes? Whatever do you refer to with that?
That's funny, because you seem to have managed to correct it anyway.

@ArtOfCode MOD ABUSE ASSISTANCE!

Who ME? I protest my innocence, good sir!

@Mithrandir Wasn't. See my screenshot.

12:59 AM
@QPaysTaxes ssshhhhhhhhhh

If it was deleted as spam or R/A, it'd be deleted and locked by Community.

@Randal'Thor no, that's only if it was flag deleted
If it was red flagged and manually deleted, it'll be hidden behind the revision link but not locked

@Mithrandir Isn't that the same thing as being "deleted as spam/R/A"?

It only had one spam flag, and the manual deletion by a mod marked that flag helpful.

1:02 AM

@Randal'Thor yeah, exactly

I should clear that flag then, if it's actually having some effect on the post/OP.

It's not
No effect unless you hit 6 flags
then yes
penalty time
also instant block time

@ArtOfCode Well, Mith's screenshot shows that it's hidden in the revision history for 10k-ers.

@QPaysTaxes oh whoops, I should have redacted the top thing there

1:03 AM
but not just for regular deletion
@Randal'Thor Yeah, I believe that kicks in earlier than 6.

@QPaysTaxes That was my thought too.

I can't sleep, have a cough that's keeping me up

That was weird. Clearing the spam flag undeleted the post, so I had to redelete it again.

Sledgehammer to the face works pretty well for those, I find.

Apparently even a single helpful red flag has a lot of effect.

ok I'm starting to question the methodology of this if it ranks ruby at 7th and c++ over c
@QPaysTaxes I'm a Source engine modder
Meets the old and complicated criteria for sure. No C++11 in sight in the public SDK code and macro mixin galore yayyyyyy
yeah it's pretty good code actually
but it's very much idiomatic C++03. not something that a hardcore clang-worshipping C++20 hipster would like
hehe
anyways ruby is nice because matz is nice or whatever
OK here's the checkmate: Fortran isn't on the list
ohh ok that makes sense
Not sure why people would specify they don't want to work with coffeescript tho
or clojure for that matter, it seems so oddly specific to filter out
anddddd right at the top of the list is our buddy IE. I wouldn't have it any other way

any thoughts on a lighter website blacklisting process? I'm thinking we could have relaxed criteria for "current campaigns" where "current campaigns" is defined something like "multiple spam messages for multiple domains in the last ... what? 48 hours?"
@SmokeDetector k
we'd probably also want to have a process for removing stuff from campaigns which are no longer current, but that's already planned
as in, we should have a tool to remove patterns which are no longer productive

7:29 AM
@tripleee Ideally we'd have something akin to a review queue on MS for that
Where patterns get put up for renewal / review with detailed stats on how they've been performing. At least for the streamlined blacklists that have been moved to file.

@Magisch how do you mean? I'm thinking it could probably be completely automated ... no hits in the last six months (or two years, or whatever) and we remove the pattern
but we should have a better understanding of how and when patterns recur

we se a lot of domains which were blacklisted two years ago popping up again

I mean like a review queue where patterns get into if they hit FPs or it has been too long since the last TP
