@Andy To avoid SmokeDetector reporting posts too slowly, you can report at most 5 posts at a time. This is to avoid SmokeDetector's chat messages getting rate-limited too much, which would slow down reports.

@Andy You can execute the !!/report command again in 21.0 seconds. To avoid one user sending lots of reports in a few commands and slowing SmokeDetector down due to rate-limiting, you have to wait 30 seconds after you've reported multiple posts using !!/report, even if your current command just has one URL. (Note that this timeout won't be applied if you only used !!/report for one post)

@Undo just realised that the review feedback action on MS might be CSRF vulnerable. We're passing data across GET parameters - is the authenticity token verified on that request, or are we vulnerable?
Heh. Didn't know tpy still registers as a true feedback.

sd k

@WaiHaLee its not really a thing, to see that comment, you actually need to search the chat reply we have writes. This can be hard in a case of a f command since this remove the smokey message. @magish want this information to be stored in metasmoke itself so we can find it easely

8:45 AM
If you want to find the message that reported a specific post, search for either the metasmoke link or the post link in the chatroom, it'll come up.

@ArtOfCode it would only work on new posts, metasmoke doesn't accept feedback on posts with already feedback. But changing the request to use a post forum wouldn't fix it as those can also be used in a cross site attack

@Ferrybig It does accept feedback in those cases, actually. We changed that so that my userscript could push feedback.
@Ferrybig POSTs are harder to do - the traditional CSRF is an image in an email - but yeah. I'm more concerned about the auth token - if that's getting verified, we're safe.

Although it is skipping the CSRF token, which... probably isn't good

@Undo That's vulnerable, then. User auth won't help, because it's cookie based and they're sent with any request.

@ArtOfCode It's a POST, though
Which means we have CORS still
I think, unless I turned that off too

@Undo Is it? Hovering over the review buttons shows me a URL in chrome's preview, i.e. a GET, and it's got params in the URL.

Kinda weird that it's stuffing things in the query string like that, but it's a POST
Is there any reason we shouldn't have CSRF enabled on that?
Or is that the route your script uses?

The script uses /posts/feedback/new or something, but it maps to that action, yeah.

The issue with blocking it out right is that the spammers would adapt, especially if the error message was useful "No links at the end of the body"
We'd just have to be faster

Has been for the better part of a year.
For April 1st last year com.google was a mirrored version of google.com

@Undo I got the free business apps while it was still free. grandfathered in. so great.

Yeah, unavailable

So then Route 53, but you'll pay for DNS queries

meh
I like my free stuff
In an ideal world, I'd just move the email stuff.

7:41 PM
By "pay" I mean "$0.400 per million queries – first 1 Billion queries / month"
Oh, and I've never done email through R53. Not sure how that works

The mail server I use for my domain is just a simple python script for smtp debugging purposes, to lazy to install a real mailbox program on and having to go through every account to remove spam

It'd be even better to run my entire domain off Amazon, really.

@ArtOfCode Pointing things to EC2 is easier, although erwaysoftware.com is on Google Domains anyway, so... meh

Currently stage. is DNS'd to an Elastic IP on AWS, the rest runs off that free hosting.
Got the mail.
