So far I've seen two spam posts with .help URLs in them. Is there any legitimate site with that TLD?
Hard to search for because of groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.java.help etc

Doesn't seem to be, a quick google search reveals only spammy/scammy websites on the first 5 pages

Yeah, when the first page of search for a TLD has "Does Garcinia Cambogia work?", that's telling.
I sometimes wonder what Google learns from my browsing history on the basis of me opening pages with "muscle growth" or "weight loss" in the URL that often (I mean the question pages, with title in the URL slug).

There should be a way to mark smokeys reports as disputed, like also happens at stackexchange, in cases like this: the user vandalises her own post, but it is then rolled back

Information Security overtook Travel for #6 on the list of most spammed sites. Travel was there mostly because of a Chinese diploma mill spam wave in early September.
The top 5 are stable: SO, SU, Drupal, AU, Meta. I don't expect these to change.
The top 5 sites account for 64.4% of all reports, almost twice as many as the other ~150 sites combined.

I still wonder why drupal is so high in the lists

Meta makes zero sense on the list. It doesn't even get much traffic, 8.5K visits per day (versus 25K for Drupal).
Also, this is like going to rob a police station.

Its probably the only site that has stackexchange in its name, so spammers assume its the most visited site

2:33 PM
@Sally Actually, the entirety of SE is like a police station in comparison to most of the rest of the Internet.

The hoop jumping we did a month or so ago to get ChatExchange re-licensed and Smokey licensed was due in part to my question about whether we wanted to apply for a 1 year license to PyCharm Professional. Now that that is done, it might be worth considering again.
Requirements:
You have to be a project lead or core committer to apply
Project must be at least 3 months old
    Project is in active development
Project must not provide commercial services or distribute any paid software versions
See full restrictions list before applying
One note:
> Provided only to core team developers.
Based on that, I'm not sure what "core" means.

Sally (please be NormalHuman, or I look like a jerk), Undo, hichris123 and ProgramFOX would definitely qualify. ManishEarth may based on volume, but not based on when the last commits were. The rest of us are pretty low on commit volume and activity, so I don't know for sure.
We can always ask for more and see if they say "Ok"
I went through the process and was approved for Zephyr
I requested 5 licenses
They gave me 125
So...we may not need to worry about exact commit activity
Approval took about 3 weeks
Last important note - The license is valid for a year. It has to be renewed (meaning reapproved) in a year

It's definitely an interesting idea. As long as I don't have to provide personal details to them I'd say we can go for it.

One person has to fill it out for the entire project. This is the form: jetbrains.com/shop/eform/opensource?product=PC

That looks fine. What would we have to put in for "City" and "Country" though?

Name and email is the most personal. I see they ask for City. I don't remember filling that, but if I did, I put the large city near me.
We'd pick one person to do it and use a large city near them. They get the batch of licenses and we figure out how to distribute them

Cool. Well, I don't see any reason not to do this.
Let's wait to hear what the others think.

Who wants to help name my Python module? The current name is "SEAPI" (Stack Exchange API). However, that is taken by this no longer existent on GitHub package. There is py-stackexchange, which is similar to what I've written so I don't want the to be to close to that. I'm also trying to stick to the trademark guidelines which has this:
> Do name your application with something unique. Including one of the terms, "Stack" or "Exchange" or "Overflow" in your product name is generally okay.
There is also a py-se-api on Stack Apps, but I don't see it in PyPI

I know @-replies under a question work for users who edited or applied a binding close vote. They don't work for users who simply closed or reopened. Do they work for those who deleted or undeleted?
Ooh, Adding a file to a repository. This would be very helpful back in the summer when I started with Github.

Yeah.
Have to finish calculus homework, give me a few minutes.
By which I mean somewhere between two and thirty :P

That's fine. :)

Just post it on Mathematics, it's quicker.
Besides, I'm out of downvotes for the day, so this is the right time to dump homework there. :)

Q: How would one be able to prove mathematically that $1+1 = 2$?

amizrahiIs it possible to prove that $1+1 = 2$? Or rather, how would one prove this algebraically or mathematically?

Duplicate.

Uh...

Wow.

does sin x + sin x = 2 sin^2 x * cos x?

11:54 PM
I guess I should have expected someone to have asked that at one point or another.

@hichris123 That doesn't seem likely, given the function on the left is odd and the function on the right is even.

@Sally I was making something up. :P I was hoping that there'd be a Mathematics question on that too...

Duplicates are sometimes kind of hard to search for when math formulas are involved, and unfortunately many users aren't even trying.
