that URL is so frequent I'm wondering if Stack Overflow would not be able to blacklist it on their side

I'm wondering if SO does any filtering (apart from blocked users/IP addresses) at all.

some URL shorteners are prohibited, for example, so it should not be hard
and lmgtfy.com

The problem is that if spammers see their posts are blocked, they will immediately switch to other site names.
So it has to be a different mechanism than the URL shortener blocks.

definitely, and we have most of those sites on the blacklist already, but the obviously low-hanging fruit might make sense to block

11:14 AM

she has been badly trolled

We should tell the mod they're named the same as an adult pill.

@JanDvorak what, Erica? That's not why we blacklisted that.

1:31 PM
is Erica an adult pill? I thought it was because she had been the target of a malicous troll, repeatedly

^ that

oh.
But we should blacklist all the pill names these spammers sell, shouldn't we?

Especially if we want this:

@JanDvorak yeah, but Erica isn't a pill :P

Isn't a female condom named like that?

1:33 PM
what, Erica?
Can't say I've heard of it
and I'm not about to google it on the university network

Wait, no, sorry; Erika is a paid SMS provider in my country. Never mind then.

How'd you make that connection?

IIRC, Erica is only blacklisted on Parents SE.

aye

@ArtOfCode That sounds exactly like what the university network should be used to search for.

@Andy Can't say I'm convinced...
They might start to question the sanity of the person who's running their research service if he started doing that

Yeah, blacklist the site's primary mod. What could go wrong?
@ArtOfCode sanity is overrated

@JanDvorak well, this.

That's not a bad TP rate
But why punish a user for a bit of art? Not to mention it's by far the most green checkmarks I've ever seen on a metasmoke post.

@JanDvorak would go fine in the offensive regex, if it's not already there. Let's see what Andy's digging up

> would not be caught as an answer

Yes, I object. There are 1701 results (woo! Enterprise!): stackoverflow.com/search?tab=newest&q=dick That's a lot to overcome in terms of how useful it will be by itself

what about pattern match on '(big|huge) dick' or similar? (I suck at regex, that's more or less pseudo-regex XD)

2:53 PM
The first few I clicked through are all because of someone's name.

oh... drat.

You'll be pleased to know that "big dick" only has 1 results (legitimate, though poorly formatted) and "huge dick" has 0 results

Nice. How many on MS?
