Ah, interesting
So the different filters have different levels of success in auto flagging

Yeah, we track each filter individually so that we can figure out which ones work and which ones don't

@DJMcMayhem We don't do any auto flagging, stats are (for now) mostly used for tuning filters.

Another FDSC bugfix coming your way. v1.2.1 now available, click to manually update. Any issues where the script reports when it shouldn't report should now be fixed. Ping me if they aren't.
6
@Undo any chance you could pin that and remove the last update message from the star list?

Oh sorry, I meant reporting not auto-flagging

12:09 AM
This was easier

Wow, thanks

You've got GitHub access to at least some stuff, I'm just late in pushing the button

BTW @undo, is the blacklist command in chat or the blacklist button on MS safe to use yet, or should we wait until you have fixed up all of the bugs and permissions?

@angussidney The one on Smokey should work and be not-dangerous (need to update the name), the one on metasmoke should do absolutely nothing.

@ArtOfCode any chance you could create a 'report post' write route on the MS API so that FDSC can make an API request to report rather than spamming chat?

7:40 AM
@angussidney sure can. I imagine you'd want it to websocket-feed Smokey so that it still gets posted in chat as well as recorded on MS?

@ArtOfCode yeah, that'd be the idea. That is possible, right?

Almost anything is technically possible, it's just a question of difficulty :) In this case, we've already got the websocket, so it won't be too hard. I may just be able to feed it straight to Smokey and let smokes do all the hard work of creating the post record.

@Andy did I? I was wrong, then. You need to follow OAuth to get hold of a write token, docs on the documentation homepage
Essentially, ask user if they allow the app, get the auth code from them, swap the code for a write token.
write tokens don't expire, but can only be fetched using the auth code in the first 10 minutes of existence

3:19 PM
@Rubisco There are roughly 30 Million people with this name …
@hichris123 Hmm. Well, I cannot know every software.

@hichris123 It is very typical of spammers to answer old questions and chuck in the name of some software that has no apparent connection to the problem in the question. That happens regularly on SU. So regularly that I have given up giving them the benefit of the doubt. I also cast VTC on the poor question.

Well, don't. Just regularly delete it then. We assume good faith.

@hichris123 We should assume good faith but only to some extent. We must allow for some margin of error – otherwise we cannot cast red flags at all. E.g., every second abusive post could theoretically be a cat on a keyboard, but how likely is it?

@hichris123 Really? In the same way we are told to flag random garbage is abusive? That isn't good faith. That's cats on keyboards.
@hichris123 Posting the name of some random piece of software that has no connection to the question is spam. Why else would you answer?

If there's some level of doubt that a post could not be spam -- don't flag it as spam.
I feel like that should be obvious, but...

@hichris123 <shrug> We will have to disagree.

I guess so, but do not report posts where you're uncertain whether it's spam or not with SmokeDetector. If you're not sure, we don't want the bot dealing with it.

@hichris123 I didn't report it. And my spam flagging record on SU can speak for itself.

@hichris123 <shrug> I'm not going to debate this anymore. If I think something is spam I will flag it. You are free to disagree. If I get a flag suspension I will take a break.

I don't think people get a suspension over one bad flag

Nope. It's a percentage over the past 7/14 days I believe.

So it does take them into account

Not really...
> Flaggers with a recent (past 7 days) flagging history consisting of at least 10 handled flags where >= 10% of flags were declined will see the following when they flag:
It just depends on how many flags you've raised vs. how many were declined.
25% is the ban threshold.
