@SmokeDetector f
:27041437 Owner rep = 8, by the way.
But the maximum for that rule (pattern matching) is 11.

@Norma lol

Now that Metasmoke collects user rep (I think) we'll have some data to evaluate max_rep on.

@Undo What happened?

12:27 AM
I keep reading Metasmoke as Meatsmoke

@hichris123 metasmoke started 503'ing again
I just updated it to Ruby 2.3. Hope that works.
Because we're not doing anything weird.
@michaelpri Implementation detail, really
I suspect it'd be the 'bad keyword' ones, with restrictions on sites, etc.
But really, anything with appreciable volume and accuracy will do

@Undo You're using Ruby on Rails?

sadly, yes.

lol
@hichris123 What'd you rather use?

Anything that doesn't 503 every two days. :P

12:36 AM
Meh. That's something we can fix
ActiveRecord is worth it when dealing with data like this

Python CGI scripts? I mean, if you want to keep the Python usage consistent that seems like a solid strategy.

@quartata I really don't want to be writing my own SQL.

@Undo ActiveRecord doesn't really seem much better than a few SQL queries. Certainly not for the memory it uses...

That's the problem with Rails see

It's not AR using that

12:38 AM
I don't like the abstraction of SQL like that
Anyways whatever floats your boat :P

@Undo Well, something allocates 800KB on every home page load... (metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/?pp=profile-gc) and I'm not sure what else it could be.

@hichris123 Is that 800KB transient or is it leaking, though?

Can you look at the memory usage of metasmoke, @Undo?
On one page load:
Initial state: object count - 338157 , memory allocated outside heap (bytes) 220150754
And we 503'd...

yeah, that was weird.
I saw it happen in htop

Maybe it's the profiler that creates issues.

12:42 AM
@hichris123 That... would actually make a lot of sense
Disabling profiler in prod

lol

Just a sec, trying to juggle like seventeen things here
Okay, it's back up
With the profiler disabled.
And on 2.3.0

I refreshed the homepage a lot and it hasn't 503'd yet...

lol
I still think there's a leak in there somewhere

Oh also, @Undo: if you're bored, could you make all of the site icons use HTTPS? It makes Chrome remove the lock since there's mixed-content.
(I think that's stored at the database level?)

12:57 AM
Yeah, that's possible

1:19 AM

Restart: API quota is 9057.

... are you sure?

@Doorknob about androidappsformac? The only instances on Android were spam, there aren't any on Apple.

No, about having 9057 API quota left
Also apparently I can't read

4:41 AM
The quota now rolls over at a different time, because of IP changes between Undo's closet, t2.nano, and now back to closet.
So, 9057 for the 24-hour period that began when Undo restarted the closet instance.

No objections from me. In fact I have no idea about licenses, so... :P

Sure, sounds okay.

@Undo go for it

8:52 PM
@Undo sure

Okay. I suppose we'll just do like Manish did with CE?

@Undo ok
Yes, checkboxes pls

I didn't even know Github markdown could do checkboxes

:p

> Copyright (c) 2016 ChatExchange Developers
Maybe SE should do the same: "Copyright (c) 2016 Stack Exchange users".
I mean, it's a collaborative environment, etc.

9:05 PM
@Norma Or just "SmokeDetector Contributors"

@Undo Sure; I was thinking (on a tangent) about SE woes with MIT license, potentially having a long list of (c) this username and (c) that username.

Yeah, that's true

9:51 PM
^ Anyone see anything terribly wrong there?

Looks good to me.

Looks fine

@Undo It would be interesting to see stats for posts with >=2 reporting reasons (excluding details like all caps, repeating chars). I wonder if there are any false positives in there.

I should be able to pull that, yeah

At present I'm working on factoring the number of reasons into my flagging script. It flagged 18 posts last night, all correctly, but hesitated to flag 8 where even after 10 minutes, the score was > -3.
If Smokey reports multiple reasons, that gives more confidence.

Okay, 4738 posts reported with >= 2 reasons
working on getting stats for feedback on those
Just a sec, brute forcing because SQL is hard

Okay. 49 false positives recorded, 3394 true positives.
Those are mutually overlapping; one post can count in both tp and fp if it got feedback reporting both
But one post can't count twice in tp if it got two tp feedbacks, for example
@Norma ^

Thanks! And some did not get feedback, but those are usually tp. So, almost 99%

@Norma No problem, playing with data is fun :)

@Undo Can you give a list of the fps?
you should just give me SELECT access to the database. ;)

Or deploy SEDE connected to it. :D

@SmokeDetector del edit suggested
I think that since the beginning of universal bodyfetching, having >=2 reasons has become much more common. Previously we'd get "bad keyword in title" and not read much further. Now it's complemented by pattern-matching website or some such.

Yeah

I.e., restricting the hypothetical autoflagging to >=2 reasons would improve the accuracy a lot.
How do checkboxes on the license post work? I commented and checked a box. I also see ndrewh commented but did not check his box.

11:26 PM
Only contributors/owners of a repo can check the boxes.
I'm... not entirely sure why, but I guess it helps cut down on "this wasn't actually done yet" kinda stuff.

Okay, then I checked for ndrewh

Ah

That was a long time ago :P

@Undo Yeah, like 1/3 of those look like accidental fps.

@hichris123 Or vandalism, yeah

It doesn't make any sense. :P It's not spam, it's not a cat-on-keyboard or offensive post...

It's offensive/abusive
