Q: Why is Samba not adding a new user with "samba-tool"?

@AnnonomusPenguin how did you install Samba ? Apparently there are two packages, "samba" and "samba4", the latter is buggy. Uninstall it and install the first one.

@André it's samba. I tried uninstalling the samba4 but it said it wasn't installed
(Using the option in the Ubuntu server setup)

@AnnonomusPenguin or maybe it's the other way around, uninstall samba and try samba4... your question is actually just about "unable to parse dn string" and it already has several questions on the SE network, you should search for those.
